On Season 13 of The Bachelorette, we watched lawyer, Rachel Lindsay fall in love with Bryan Abasolo. Though the couple got engaged once the show ended, they were in no rush to tie the knot. Now, two years later, after getting to know each other much more, it looks like they are finally ready to walk down the aisle.
Here’s what we know about Lindsay and Abasolo’s wedding so far.
When is Rachel Lindsay’s wedding date?
Though the 33-year-old lawyer and the 38-year old chiropractor haven’t released their exact wedding date, we do know that they will be tying the knot towards the end of summer 2019. At the Los Angeles premiere of What Men Want — Lindsay told People, “We have a date, we just haven’t officially released it. It will be toward the end of summer, that’s the biggest hint that I can give. We’re excited, and now I have to hurry up because it’s just six months away.” It looks like The Bachelorette couple’s wedding date will be sometime in August.
Where will Rachel Lindsay and Brian Abasolo get married?
For now, Lindsay is staying coy about her wedding location, but we do know that she and Abasolo will be having a destination wedding somewhere warm. She explained, “It will be a destination wedding. Bryan is Colombian, I’m black, and it is very important that the wedding reflects both of that, even into the reception. I want to bring some Colombian traditions. A lot of his family from Colombia will be there because the wedding will be at a location much closer to Colombia.”
Is Rachel Lindsay a bridezilla?
Rachel Lindsay is actually a super low-key bride. She wanted to have a courthouse wedding until she was convinced to do something just a little bit bigger.
She explained, “I have to start picking out a dress. I won’t have bridesmaids, but now we’re getting the list. I wanted 50 people, and it’s already at 150, so it’s bigger than I would like for it to be, but that’s okay.”
Lindsay has hired wedding planner Michael Russo to make sure her big day goes as smoothly and stress-free as possible. She revealed, “I’m letting him take the reigns. I’m just putting a list together, a little detail, and letting him take control of it. I’m not a bridezilla. I don’t have colors; I don’t have flowers, I’m just like, ‘Let’s get it done!’”
Does Rachel Lindsay’s wedding have a theme?
Though Lindsay hasn’t settled on one theme for her big day, she does know that music will play a significant role. She explained to People, “My vision is to bring two cultures together. This is two families coming together, and that is the one thing that I am a stickler to: I want that music to be represented, I want those traditions, and whatever else his mother-in-law tells me is part of the tradition that is part of the culture to be there. I have found love in a very untraditional way and we want to share our journey with people. And so that’s why it has become bigger than I would like, but it is a beautiful thing.”
