Why ‘The Bachelorette’ Fans Think Tayshia Adams Might Replace Clare Crawley as the Next Lead

When Tayshia Adams didn’t find love on The Bachelor or Bachelor in Paradise, fans begged ABC to make the 29-year-old the next bachelorette. As we know, the title went to Hannah Brown for season 15. Then Adams was reportedly considered for The Bachelorette Season 16. But in the end, Clare Crawley was cast as the new lead. Nevertheless, some fans are starting to think Adams might replace Crawley on The Bachelorette after Bachelor Nation spoiler king, Reality Steve, shared a theory from Reddit.

On July 31, Reality Steve tweeted a Reddit post suggesting Crawley will be recast with Adams on The Bachelorette Season 16. The Reddit user wrote:

On Monday I got some messages saying that production is having a lot of problems with Clare during filming. Among other things, she cancelled everything that was supposed to happen on that Saturday before, and they called in a new bachelorette. They are recasting her with Tayshia. Tayshia is already quarantining at the hotel and they should be taking her phone on Friday (today). The plan is for her to call back some of guys that have already been eliminated.

That said, the Bachelor Nation blogger and Reddit user pointed out the potential spoiler is unverified.

“I’ve been made aware of this Reddit post making the rounds,” Reality Steve wrote on Twitter. “Been on the phone for the last 2 hrs digging. I cannot confirm with 100% certainty if it’s true yet, but if you ask my opinion, I think there is some serious validity to it based on what I’m hearing now.”

Then during an Instagram Live chat, Reality Steve opened up about his findings thus far. The blogger brought up a recent Us Weekly article, which revealed The Bachelorette production team reached out to contestants who were eliminated before filming. The contestants were then asked to return to La Quinta “within 24 hours.”

Nevertheless, Reality Steve doesn’t know what’s going on with Crawley at this time. “I can’t tell you if Clare is off the show or not. I don’t know yet,” he said on Instagram Live. “She might still be out there. She might still be out there and not filming, she might still be out there and continuing to film, or she might be on her way home.”

Even so, Reality Steve has reason to believe Adams could be at the La Quinta resort now. Though he noted he still needs more confirmation.

“I haven’t gotten the confirmation that I need. But I’m really certain Tayshia is out in La Quinta right now,” he said during the Live. “There’s no reason for Tayshia to be in La Quinta unless she’s being asked to film something. Which means that she would be the bachelorette. So if you ask me if Tayshia is going to be the bachelorette from this point forward, my answer would be yes.”

For now, Bachelor Nation fans will just have to wait and see what happens next. Until ABC has made an official announcement, the idea of Adams replacing Crawley as The Bachelorette Season 16 lead is a fan theory. Though it appears the franchise could be leaning into all the rumors.

A few hours before the Reddit post and Reality Steve’s Live, Adams posted a cryptic message on Instagram

“The eye is always caught by light, but shadows have more to say,” Adams captioned a photo of her silhouette, quoting Gregory Maguire.

Meanwhile, The Bachelor producer Julia LaPlaca commented on the Instagram post with a string of black heart and fire emojis. Then the Bachelor Nation Instagram account responded with the raising hand emojis. So naturally, fans thought the franchise was saying something about the theory.

“Oh it’s so happening,” a fan wrote on Instagram.

Wherever Adams is headed to next — whether it’s The Bachelorette or another adventure outside of the franchise — Bachelor Nation fans know she’s ready to find her perfect match.

“I have to say, anything that comes my way, I am ready for,” Adams told Entertainment Tonight in February 2020. “I am ready for love!”

She later added, “No matter where life takes me, I am open to all opportunities. And I don’t think that this is where my TV presence will end. I would love to still interact with a lot of people in a beautiful way.”
