For months, Bachelor Nation viewers have been waiting for news on Adams, as she reportedly became the new bachelorette after replacing Clare Crawley. In case anyone needs a refresher, Adams dated Colton Underwood on The Bachelor Season 23 and John Paul Jones on Bachelor in Paradise Season 6. Adams made it through to the top three on Underwood’s season. The former NFL player picked Cassie Randolph. But even so, Adams became a Bachelor Nation fan-favorite.

When Adams moved on to Bachelor in Paradise, she struck up a summer romance with JPJ. The couple didn’t get engaged on the ABC reality series. But in the finale, they decided to continue dating. Nevertheless, Adams and Jones broke up a few months later.

In early August 2020, Bachelor Nation fans were stunned when multiple publications reported Adams replaced Crawley as the new bachelorette. Crawley was only a few weeks into filming. But she allegedly fell in love with one of her suitors, and production decided to bring in another lead.

Meanwhile, E! News revealed both Adams and Crawley would get screentime on The Bachelorette Season 16. “The producers have told her that the season will still lead with Clare and her short-lived journey, and will show Clare falling in love with one of her suitors,” a source told the publication. “Clare will then conclude her journey and announce that Tayshia is the lead.”

When The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere aired, ABC didn’t acknowledge Adams’ involvement in the new season. Early previews solely highlighted Crawley’s journey. But on the Oct. 27 episode of The Bachelorette, the franchise slapped Bachelor Nation in the face with a teaser featuring Adams.

In the clip, Adams stepped out of the pool in a swimsuit reminiscent of Halle Berry’s in Die Another Day. Meanwhile, the BIP alum teased her Bachelorette entrance a few hours later on Instagram.

“You rang…?!” Adams caption the Insta pic.

Of course, The Bachelorette team didn’t exactly clarify the switch-up between Adams and Crawley. And at this point, we can only confirm Adams will show up on set. Then when speaking with Entertainment Tonight, host Chris Harrison hinted at what’s coming next.

“[Tayshia] is that diamond in the rough that any guy would be lucky to fall in love with,” Harrison said. “She was always a fan favorite, she was always a favorite of the producers, and so she was always on the top of our list.”

He continued, “Clearly, we went with Clare, and that was a great choice because she’s done a phenomenal job at falling in love. But if things take a turn, then we may have to make a turn as well, and make a change. And will it be Tayshia? Probably.”

Meanwhile, Adams opened up about The Bachelorette trailer during the Click Bait podcast after the reality star’s co-hosts, Hannah Ann Sluss and Joe Amabile, called her out on her surprise appearance.

“Did you not see yourself on The Bachelorette? Coming outta the pool, looking all hot, looking like Halle Berry,” Sluss said on the podcast. “Girl, I thought we were friends. You could have given me a forewarning.”

Joe also told Adams she looked “really good” in the preview. Then when Sluss asked Adams to delve into filming the teaser, Adams simply played it coy.

“What do you mean? I don’t know what you guys are talking about,” Adams said. “All I know is I love Palm Springs. I love La Quinta, I vacation there. It’s summer, it’s hot. It was a pool. I was just swimming around. I don’t know what you were referring to.”

Clearly, The Bachelorette fans are in for a ride when Adams returns to the franchise. So get ready. The new episode airs Thursday, Nov. 5.
