‘The Bachelorette’ Trailer Questions Whether Dale Moss and Clare Crawley Met Before the Show

The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere had Bachelor Nation fans wondering whether Dale Moss and Clare Crawley met before the show. The couple had an instant connection on night one. Crawley even felt like she met her husband after Dale’s limo entrance. Now, it seems some contestants are starting to pick up on the spark. Then in the recent promo trailer for The Bachelorette Week 3, a few cast members questioned whether Dale and Crawley knew each other ahead of filming. So here’s what we know so far.

At the start of The Bachelorette Season 16 Episode 3 trailer, Dale is being roasted by Crawley’s cast. But despite the looming music, it appears the roast is just a fun group date. Nevertheless, the clip is paired with a confessional interview of Crawley defending her frontrunner.

“If some of these guys are picking up on Dale and I’s relationship and the connection him and I have, guess what? It’s because I like him,” she says.

Later, Kenny Braasch prompts a big question. “Who else has she really shown that kind of interest in?” he says. Then Zac Clark suggests Crawley spoke to another contestant before the show. “People alluded to, prior to arriving here, maybe they’ve been in contact on social media,” he says.

Jason Foster also gets heated. “He thinks he’s better than all of us? F*ck you,” he says in a confessional. Then Jason is spotted confronting another cast member, claiming everyone “caught” the person in question in a lie. Later, Yosef Aborady tells Clare, “I’m ashamed to be associated with you.”

As The Bachelorette contestants make their accusations in the trailer, clips of Crawley and Dale are sandwiched between. At one point, the couple gets some alone time. Dale says, “I’m gonna catch so much riff for this.”

Eventually, the promo highlights shots that already been seen in previous previews. A man storms out and yells, “I expected way more from the oldest bachelorette.” Crawley cries, and a few contestants comfort her. But ultimately, she stands her ground. “I’m the oldest bachelorette that’s 39, that’s standing here, that’s single, because I didn’t settle for men like that,” she says.

While The Bachelorette Week 3 looks explosive, fans will have to wait and see how everything unfolds. The trailers splice everything together. So we don’t have the full picture just yet.

Even so, Crawley has already answered whether she talked to Dale before filming. When The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere was released, Crawley revealed Blake was the only contestant to reach out to her ahead of the show.

“Blake was the only person that messaged me, the only person I had any contact, talked to, any sort of communication with [ahead of the season],” Clare told Entertainment Tonight. “We’re given these rules to respect, the process of it all, and I definitely, 100%, respected the process. What he did, and the reason he did that, I also really respect.”

After The Bachelorette Season 16 premiere, the teasers left fans wondering whether Dale was there for the “right reasons.” Then when Entertainment Tonight asked Crawley about her frontrunner, the 39-year-old revealed she “absolutely” knew who Dale was. She also hinted at what could’ve happened between Dale and the cast.

“I’ve experienced it before in the past where you’re not there for bromances, you’re not there for anything more than that,” Crawley said. “I know, to some, it can sound harsh. But it’s the reality of it, that’s the fun part — the bromances or the friendships. That is innately going to be apart of it. But ultimately, you want to find love.”

She continued, “How [Dale] is to my face, that’s what I care about. I’m sure there’s a lot of stuff that he shared with me — that a lot of guys shared with me — that he didn’t share with the other guys.”

Whatever happens between Dale and Crawley as The Bachelorette Season 16 continues, it certainly seems the lead still supports her contestant’s character. So what’s on the horizon? There’s plenty of drama to unpack in the next few weeks.
