‘The Bachelorette’: Tyler Cameron Wants To Get Back To Building Houses In The New Year
Before Tyler Cameron was a reality TV star and model, he was a general contractor. His introductory video for The Bachelorette even showed him dancing around in a tool belt.
But since Hannah Brown’s season of The Bachelorette ended, Cameron has seemed more focused on modeling than building houses.
Tyler Cameron’s main focus has been modeling since ‘The Bachelorette’ ended
Back in late August, Cameron was a guest on the Bachelor Party podcast where he spoke about chasing his modeling dream.
“My life has changed completely. A lot more opportunities are coming. I’m excited there’s a lot of things that are in the makings right now that I’m really excited about. As much as I love Jupiter and I love construction […] but prior to the show I was going to move to New York City to go for my modeling career,” he said.
No matter how his time on The Bachelorette ended, Cameron’s plan was always to return to New York.
“I was gonna move up here, whatever happened with the show. Because houses are always gonna be built, renovated, there’s always gonna be opportunities there. But there’s a shelf life to modeling and these opportunities so I’m trying to run with it and see what it has to offer, and I got some really cool things that are coming with modeling,” he said.
And by the looks of his Instagram, Cameron has been modeling more and more lately. He’s also been doing a bit of hosting.
Tyler Cameron is still interested in construction
But while he’s been working on his modeling career, Cameron’s always had construction in the back of his mind.
Glamour interviewed Cameron back in late July. The interviewer mentioned that the reality star brought The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines to read during his time on The Bachelorette because he was inspired by their career path.
“Career-wise, what’s next for you?” they asked.
“I’m putting a lot of focus and energy on ABC Food Tours, which is my company that me and my buddy have where we [help out] inner-city kids. Also, I’m applying for my general contractor’s license and starting my own company and get rolling with that in Florida,” he said.
Cameron recently did an Instagram Q&A and one of his fans asked him if he’s still building houses.
“Finally applying for my license!” he responded. “So yes the goal is to get back to building houses in Florida. Hopefully start one in the new year.”
With a background in construction and his new hosting/on-camera experience, we can totally see Cameron as the next Chip Gaines.
