Chastain walks away from ‘Below Deck’

After starring in Below Deck for the past six seasons, Chastain has become accustomed to the drama. But the trailer for season 7 teased that she may have finally given in to the pressures of the job.

In her heated argument with Pienaar, Chastain seemingly had enough after he told her, “Everybody feels that way about you, Kate!”

In fact, she immediately gave him her epaulets and told him to “find another chief stew” before walking out of the scene. We do not know if Chastain quit for good or if she returned to her duties, but things definitely got heated.

The clip did not reveal what the argument was about, but Chastain recently opened up about the drama in a new interview. According to Bravo, Kate Chastain revealed that she faced more drama than ever this season and that she simply grew tired of people’s disrespect.

“And it just got to a point where I felt like the people I was working with were too disrespectful and too much, and I wanted to be out of that situation,” she explained

Chastain noted that this was the first time she has walked off the boat, though there were plenty of times in the past where she could have done the same.

But for whatever reason, the drama proved too much for her to handle in season 7. As far as Captain Lee is concerned, he recently revealed that he had no idea things had reached a boiling point among his crew.

Captain Lee opens up about the drama

While Chastain was threatening to quit her job and jump ship, Captain Lee admitted that he had no idea what was going on.

For Captain Lee, the lack of coffee in the morning was the first sign that something was going on. When someone informed him that Chastain was gone, he immediately knew that someone had made a big mistake. He also wondered what had caused Chastain to quit, mostly because he does not want to ever cross that line with her.

We still do not know what happened to Chastain after she quit, so fans will have to tune in to the rest of the season to find out. Hopefully, she did not quite for good and returned after hashing things out.

In the meantime, Captain Lee did tease that Chastain might not be the only person leaving the ship this season. Depending on what happened and why she left, Captain Lee assured viewers that she isn’t the only one who is going to be held responsible for their actions.

Inside Captain Lee’s personal life

Below Deck drama aside, Captain Lee suffered a tremendous loss this summer when his son, Joshua Rosbach, died after accidentally overdosing on drugs.

In a new interview, the Below Deck star revealed that he is still coping with the loss and feels like he has a hole in his life that will never be filled.

Captain Lee also recalled when he first learned about his son’s passing. He revealed that he went over to check in on his son when he discovered him sitting on his couch. He first thought that his son had only passed out and suspected that he would be okay. That quickly changed when he tried to hug him, and he immediately knew he was gone.

Captain Lee’s son had fought drug addiction for over 20 years before his death in July.

Following the tragic passing, Captain Lee and his wife, Mary Anne Rosbach, issued a statement about dealing with addictions. The couple shared how much they loved their son and praised him for what he accomplished in life despite his struggles.

They also told their followers about the importance of getting people help before it is too late. They laid their son to rest on July 29.

Season 7 of Below Deck continues Monday nights on Bravo.
