‘Below Deck Med’ Fans Are Stunned About Reunion News
She shared a Decider article reporting that a reunion wasn’t likely. “Sad, but true,” she tweeted. “You can always catch up with our thoughts on this season on
@BravoTV After Show. Thanks to all the fans & friends of #BelowDeckMed for your support & love thru all our seasons! We’re not done yet…4 more episodes of S4 in the French Riviera.”
Nearly every Bravo show, with the exception of a few, end the season with a sitdown reunion with Andy Cohen. Also, every Below Deck and Below Deck Med reunions have aired in the Watch What Happens Live Clubhouse. Although fans have begged for a beefier reunion, they were at least able to say “bon voyage” to favorite crew members. But not this time.
Andy Cohen says it wasn’t his decision
Of course, the first thing fans did was ask Cohen why Below Deck Med wasn’t going to have a reunion. He responded on Yawn’s thread, “Not my decision!” The Real Housewives typically end the season with an extravagant, multi-part reunion at a location in the franchise city. Below Deck and Below Deck Med end their seasons with a single episode reunion show.
During Below Deck season six, fans wanted more. In fact, they demanded not only the reunion be held in a location outside the Clubhouse, but they also wanted the multi-part show. Season six was wild, with multiple cast departures and a near-death experience. Unfortunately, fans felt a little ‘meh” after the reunion and were left wanting more.
“Capt Lee looks like he rather be anywhere but there,” one person observed. Another Twitter user thought Cohen seemed especially chill too. “Why so subdued tonight Andy? Best season ever of Below Deck – reunion should be more fun!”
Fans are not happy
Needless to say, fans are overwhelmingly not happy that they won’t get their reunion. Plus they are still annoyed the franchise doesn’t get the same reunions offered to shows like Southern Charm or the Real Housewives. One fan demanded on Yawn’s Twitter thread, “Why can’t
#BelowDeckMed and #BelowDeck have a #reunion like every other @BravoTV series? And I wish @Andy would have more than just an hour. That doesn’t even scratch the surface! Give @BelowDeckMedTV a real reunion!”
Some people just wanted a Below Deck reunion over the Housewives. “No. That stinks. Why no reunion.? You make us endure all those stupid Housewives Reunions that are 3 episodes long. This season of
#BelowDeckMed was so good. Very disappointed.”
Deckhand Colin Macy-O’Toole retweeted a link to the Decider article but did not comment. No specific reason was given for the reunion snub. The last episode of Below Deck Med is slated to air Monday, September 30th at 9 pm ET/PT on Bravo.
One small glimmer of hope for landlubber yachties. Below Deck, season seven will air Monday, October 7 at 9 pm ET/PT on Bravo. That means fans only need to white knuckle their way through one week before they get another nautical fix.
