The action-packed clip shows more drama and debauchery, which includes another crew member getting fired. But Bravo managed to sneak in a mystery person walking toward the yacht who delivers a signature, “Hello, lovelies,” comment.
Die-hard Below Deck fans were pretty keen to recognize that the voice belongs to Robinson. However, Bravo did not reveal Robinson’s face. As a result, more mystery surrounds the season with the big question hanging in the balance: does Robinson end up working on Sirocco?
Hannah Ferrier said Ben does not replace Mila
Chief stew Hannah Ferrier and deckhand Colin Macy-O’Toole addressed the rumors that Robinson will return to become the chef this season. The crewmates appeared on the AfterBuzz TV It’s Bravo Betch! podcast where they directly addressed the question.
First Ferrier commented on a photo that surfaced before the season started of Robinson and the current cast in France. French restaurant, Le Plongeoirthat, posted the picture to Instagram, which got fans excited. “So I filmed with Ben season one in Greece,” Ferrier said. “Ben was in Monaco and we were having a night out and I decided to invite him. I thought he’d like to meet the crew.”
Robinson was also caught wearing a Sirocco shirt on his Instagram story, which has now expired. So when asked if Robinson replaces Chef Mila Kolomeitseva Ferrier was pretty direct. “Ben doesn’t replace Mila,” she says. “Sorry.”
But does he replace Anastasia instead?
Ferrier was telling the truth: Robinson does not replace Kolomeitseva. But one fan pointed out is it possible he replaces Surmava instead? The midseason clip shows Surmava struggling in her role as the chef.
In a recent episode, Ferrier commented about how Surmava’s food resembled basic American cuisine. Plus the guests send back their steaks for being undercooked. The crew also worried about how Surmava would handle the role, considering she was originally hired to be the third stew.
Additionally, who gets fired? Of course, Bravo won’t spill, but Surmava could move back to her third stew role, which would open the chef’s position for Robinson.
Robinson took a break from ‘Below Deck’
Robinson issued a statement to Bravo’s The Daily Dish after he wrapped season four of Below Deck. “I’ve decided to take a break from the show this season. I will continue to focus on my career as a chef and holistic nutritionist, and I’ll have a lot of exciting news on these fronts soon!”
He did, however, keep the door open to the possibility of returning. “The door is always open for Below Deck, and I wish the crew all the best with the upcoming season.” But he also remarked on Twitter about how he remained in the industry longer than most yacht chefs.
But fans are holding out hope he spices up the season with his sharp wit and culinary talents. One person posted on Twitter, “Listen, if that was the voice of
@BenRobinsonChef at the end of this Below Deck Med episode and if my guy Ben is making his triumphant return… I’m jacked up. Below Deck remains my shit and if you don’t watch itsnon you.”
