‘Below Deck’: Why Wasn’t Hannah Ferrier Shocked by Captain Sandy’s ‘Waits Tables’ Comment?
The Internet went wild over Yawn’s comment about how Ferrier “waits tables” when Ferrier accused Yawn of being competitive with her. “There was some weird competitive thing she had going on with me,” Ferrier said about Yawn on a podcast. “Which was kind of silly because it’s not two positions that should be competing.”
Yawn told Showbiz Cheat Sheet there was no competition with Ferrier. She then added she is a captain whereas Ferrier “waits tables.”
Hannah Ferrier said the comment came as a shock to other people
Ferrier and Yawn have sniped back and forth for months and Ferrier thinks Yawn doesn’t respect the interior team.
“This is the thing, nothing that she says like that takes me by surprise because I’ve known for years that’s her view on the interior and on people who work on the interior,” Ferrier told US Weekly. “So it came as a shock to other people, but it didn’t come as a shock for me because I’ve always felt very second rate to deck crew and things like that when I’ve worked with her.”
Ferrier said she finally started to speak her mind because she and Yawn will never work together again. “I think sometimes people get confused because I’ve felt this way and thought this way for many, many years, but the only reason I can kind of talk about it now is because I know that I’ll never work with her again,” Ferrier added.
Bugsy Drake doesn’t agree with Hannah Ferrier’s assertion that Captain Sandy doesn’t care for the interior team
Yawn’s comment may have been very specific to Ferrier because Christine “Bugsy” Drake believes Yawn truly respects the interior team and chief stew position.
“I think that comment might’ve been taken a little out of context in terms and made into a bad comment because I don’t necessarily think Sandy meant it in a malicious way,” Drake told US Weekly in a separate interview. “Her and I have a close relationship and I know that she has a lot of respect for any chief stewardess that works with her.”
Former Below Deck chief stew Adrienne Gang, who also dragged Yawn on social media doesn’t believe the remark had tremendous malice behind it. “My suspicion was that Sandy was trying to take a dig at Hannah and didn’t realize that it would be insulting to a much larger group of people,” she said on the Side Piece with Melissa Pfeister podcast. “And I had a lot of respect for Sandy. I don’t think she has ill intent. I just don’t think she’s very graceful with her words. And I think that gets her into trouble.”
