‘Below Deck Med’: Why Is Jack Stirrup Hiding in a Closet?
The deckhand is filmed hiding inside a closet during what can only be summed up as a hideously heated fight between the charter guests. The fight, which rivals last season’s Below Deck fight with charter guest Krystal, gets out of hand and Stirrup wants to no part of it.
According to the clip, the charter guests are fighting over Captain Sandy Yawn’s attention. As the group of women gets into a smackdown, the crew looks completely uncomfortable, similar to how the crew of My Seanna had to handle their charter guest fight.
A fight breaks out between two guests who allude to something that “transpired” beforehand. One guest grabs the other guest’s arm before she storms out of the room. The guest asks chief stew, Hannah Ferrier, where are all the boys. “Working,” Ferrier says from behind the bar. Flash over to Stirrup lurking from inside a closet.
Fighting resumes as the guest asserts she was interrupted while having a conversation with Yawn. Some of the unintelligible banter revolves around getting Yawn’s attention too.
Meanwhile, the crew could not look more uncomfortable. Thankfully for Yawn, she’s returned to the wheelhouse so she isn’t hearing the smackdown. But Ferrier, the consummate professional, continues to work while second stew Aesha Scott looks on. As chef Ben Robinson cleans up he shoots the crew a small grin as the fighting gets more intense.
“So these guests are fighting about Sandy’s attention,” Ferrier says in a confessional interview. “Which is strangely ironic to be because I’ve spent the last few years trying to get her attention off me.” And then the fighting gets even worse. Some of the other guests look uncomfortable too.
Recalling the infamous shame cocoon
This season’s fight may produce flashbacks of the last charter guest on Below Deck season six. Chief stew Kateh Chastain seemed hopeful that this group of girls on charter to celebrate the primary’s birthday was a fun way to end the season. She was wrong.
Krystal and friends fought bitterly putting the crew in the same awkward position as those on Sirocco. At one point, Krystal becomes so drunk she refuses to return to her cabin. The crew offers to help her back to her room, but she lashes out. She even ends up hitting her friend who tries to soothe her.
As she pouts underneath a blanket, second stew Josiah Carter hilariously says, “She’s like wrapped herself in some sort of shame cocoon, refusing to move.” Chastain is ready to get out the hose to motivate the guest to move. But thankfully, she eventually gets up on her own and goes to bed. Of course, though, that isn’t the end of the fighting and bickering with this group of guests.
