‘Below Deck’: Which Crew Member Is Quickly Becoming a Captain Lee Favorite?

Captain Lee Rosbach from Below Deck has been asked on a number of occasions to assemble his “dream team” crew. He cites crew members from as far back as season 1 but may have someone new to add to the team.

He’s been watching season 7 with viewers and blogging along the way. Rosbach doesn’t mince words when it comes to criticizing or praising crew members and one crew member seems to be getting all praise and little to no criticism. Viewers weren’t sure how stew Courtney Skippon would perform during the early episodes. Skippon complained about working in the heat on the beach and didn’t seem to have a significant amount of experience either.

However, Skippon has become a breakout fan favorite crew member. Her low-key, irreverent sense of humor reminds fans of her boss, chief stew Kate Chastain. Plus, she calmly goes about her job without getting flustered or emotional. In addition to the fans, Rosbach is certainly noticing Skippon this season and it wouldn’t be surprising if she ended up on his ultimate dream team too.

An unexpected treat

A fan tweeted to Rosbach about Skippon. “I’d like to add Courtney is an unexpected treat!” Rosbach agreed. “Damn right she is. Love her.” In addition to his response on Twitter, Rosbach has consistently noticed and praised Skippon in his blog too.

By episode three, Rosbach could tell Skippon was going to be a nice addition to the crew. “Courtney, I think you have a much better work ethic and attitude than you let on and I like it,” he wrote. “You had a stellar week, I thought your input with Kevin about the seafood extravaganza was spot on as was Kates. Great job, love your wit and humor and your interaction with the rest of the crew.”

He also appreciates Skippon’s sense of humor. When deckhand Abbi Murphy got engaged via text message, Skippon said in a confessional that her eyes rolled right off the boat. “Courtney, best line of the week goes to you. Your eyes were rolling off the boat when you heard about the proposal. That was funny,” he shared after episode five. “You had a good week as well. Love the attitude, no flack, just do what you’re asked with out grief or complaints. Like when Kate said, Courtney, will you go down to laundry, and your reply was sure, no problem. Love that. I also like the high standard to which you hold yourself. I find that quality admirable.”

Skippon has been entertaining Twitter fans too

Skippon knows how to bring the laughter to social media too. She’s been tweeting and creating hilarious memes and fans can’t get enough. Skippon shares funny moments from the show and then makes them even funnier.

She recently designed a meme where deckhand Rhylee Gerber relaxes on a lounge chair with a cocktail in hand and waves at Skippon. Skippon is sitting across the pool in another lounge chair. “@thelifeofrhylee: ‘dumb bitch’ Me: ‘dumb bitch’⁣ Me & Rhylee,” she captioned the funny video.
