Beverley Mitchell and Mackenzie Rosman Are Ready for a ‘7th Heaven’ Reboot

Beverley Mitchell is ready for a 7th Heaven reboot. On Thursday, August 29, the 38-year-old actress — who played Lucy Camden on the series — shared a throwback photo on Instagram to mark the show’s 23rd anniversary.

Mitchell proclaimed her love for her on-screen siblings Jessica Biel, Mackenzie Rosman, Barry Watson, and David Gallagher. Then she proposed an idea that 7th Heaven fans could get behind.

“Now if only we could get a reboot! Would you be down to watch?” she wrote. This isn’t the first time Mitchell has floated the idea of getting the old gang back together. She also brought up the possibility in a 2018 interview.

Mitchell apparently has nothing but fond memories from her time on 7th Heaven, the family-friendly drama that aired from 1996 through 2007.

“#tbt 23 years ago this week #7thHeaven premiered,” Mitchell wrote. “Thank you for letting the #Camdens be a part of your family! I am honored to have brought #LucyCamden to life! And I will be forever grateful for the family it gave me!”

She also shared two old photos of 7th Heaven’s Camden kids.

Mackenzie Rosman is on board with a reboot

Mitchell tagged her former co-stars in the nostalgic Instagram post. And at least one of them seems like she might be on board with the idea of a reboot.

“Camdens unite! #bestwaytogrowup#tvfamilyforever,” replied Rosman, who played Ruthie Camden.

“love you forever! ❤️❤️❤️😘” commented Mitchell in response.

This isn’t the first time the idea of a ‘7th Heaven’ reboot has come up

Mitchell isn’t the first 7th Heaven star to comment on the possibility of reviving the series. In 2017, Watson told The Wrap in 2017, that the idea of a reboot had been discussed.

“I know there were talks a few years ago about that … I think that’s always going to be something that’s discussed,” he said of the possibility of the show returning to TV.

“I’d be open to doing something. I love all those folks,” the actor added.

Catherine Hicks, who played mom Annie Camden, has also suggested she’s open to a 7th Heaven reboot, saying she’d be “happy” to work with her former co-stars.

What about Stephen Collins?

Any 7th Heaven reboot would have to decide what to do about disgraced star Stephen Collins, who played Reverend Eric Camden.

In 2014, Collins admitted that he’d had inappropriate sexual relations with several underage girls. He has not worked in Hollywood since.

However, show creator Brenda Hampton has said that she’d be willing to work with Collins if a 7th Heaven reboot happened.

“I would include him,” she told Life & Style in 2017. “I think all the actors would like to do a reunion show. It would be really fun!”

However, it seems unlikely that a 7th Heaven reboot would get the go-ahead if Collins were involved, given the recent scrutiny around sexual abuse and misconduct in the entertainment industry.
