Beyoncé and Adele Are Reportedly Collaborating on Music and Fans Have Mixed Feelings

The time has come, folks! Two of music’s biggest titans are coming together to release music.

We’re, of course, talking about Beyoncé and Adele! Over the weekend of Sept. 27, news broke that the singers are teaming up for a track that will come out in 2020, prompting thousands of reactions on social media. And while many of them are excited, some aren’t so thrilled.

More on Beyoncé and Adele’s collaboration

OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder announced on Sept. 28 at the Global Citizens Festival that Beyoncé and Adele will feature on a song from the band’s upcoming album, Human, which hits shelves some time in 2020. The song will also feature Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

“We have one song featuring Beyoncé and Adele with a Chris Martin piano solo on the bridge,” Tedder explained to Z100 New York.

The news received mixed reactions

Upon hearing the news, many people flocked to Twitter to react to the upcoming collaboration. Some people couldn’t have been happier to learn that the singers have finally joined forces.

Wow the vocals they will serve,” one fan tweeted.

“[THE] COLLAB OF THE DECADE IS COMING,” read another tweet.

Other people shared chart and award predictions, with one person tweeting, “Coming for 30 weeks at #1 and 10 [Grammys].”

But others aren’t exactly looking forward to the track, with one person calling it “a mess.”

“Weird combo,” someone else tweeted.

Another person added, “Fan of the 4 but why does it already sound like too much.”

As of writing, neither Beyoncé or Adele has commented on the news.

There were rumors that they almost collaborated years ago

Back in 2015, rumors surfaced that Beyoncé had contacted the “Someone Like You” singer to record a duet, but had been “turned down.”

However, Adele later cleared up the rumors, saying she was never contacted and would never snub the Lemonade crooner.

“There is a rumor going around that I turned Beyoncé down,” she told radio personality Zane Lowe in a November 2015 interview. “Just to clear up, I would never be so disrespectful. I would never disrespect her like that. I’m such a fan, oh my God!”

She went on to share her favorite musicians, which include Lana Del Rey and the Alabama Shakes. Her No. 1 artist? “Obviously, Queen Bey to the day I die,” Adele added.

What have Beyoncé and Adele been up to?

Beyoncé recently released The Gift, a soundtrack album for The Lion King (2019), in which she starred as Nala. She also put out HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM, which is a collection of songs she performed at Coachella in 2018.

Adele, on the other hand, is gearing up to release new music. She hasn’t released an album since 2015’s 25.

“She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music. It seems it will happen later this year,” a source told People on Sept. 4 (which is, ironically, Bey’s birthday). “She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.”

Stay tuned to see what happens.
