Is Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella Performance Coming to Netflix?
If you know anything about the legendary Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter –then you know that she moves in silence. Therefore, you never really know when she’s going to strike. The Crazy in Love icon has made the world stop on more than one occasion –when she debuted her self-titled album in 2013 out of nowhere, when she announced her pregnancy with her twins Sir and Rumi on Feb 1, 2017, and when she slayed our lives with her joint album, Everything is Love, with her husband JAY-Z.
Now, it looks like 2019 will have even more Queen B. Along with her portrayal of adult Nala in the live-action version of The Lion King –it looks like Bey also has some new music on the way and a massive deal with Netflix.
Is Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance coming to Netflix?
After returning from maternity leave –Beyoncé gave an iconic performance at Coachella in 2018. To be honest, we still haven’t recovered. If your pirated YouTube link of the performance has expired, you’re in luck. It appears the Lemonade singer might have a major deal with Netflix so you’ll be able to watch it on the streaming service soon.
Us Weekly is reporting that the Destiney’s Child alum will drop a Netflix documentary sometime in 2019. The Netflix film will focus in part on her 2018 history-making Coachella performance. Bey was the first Black woman to headline the beloved music festival. An insider revealed, “[The Netflix doucmentary] will be tied to her Coachella 2018 performance with additional footage.”
If you recall —Beyoncé’s Coachella performance was massive. It had a 26-song set list that spanned her entire career. She was also joined on the stage by Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland for a Destiny’s Child reunion; her sister Solange Knowles; and her husband JAY-Z. During night one of her performance, the songstress said, “I’m so happy that I am here. I was supposed to perform at Coachella [last year], but I ended up getting pregnant—thank God! So I had time to dream and dream and dream with two beautiful souls in my belly.…Thank you guys for sharing this with me. I hope y’all enjoyed the show.” Let’s just hope Netflix captured even more behind the scenes footage from Beyoncé’s massive return to the stage.
Will Beyoncé debut a new album in 2019?
In addition to a Netflix documentary, it also looks like we may get new music from Beyoncé this year. We already know that her stunning vocals will appear on the soundtrack for the live action version of The Lion King. Apparently, she and Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino will be singing, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?”
However, an insider to US Weekly that in addition to her Netflix deal, the singer will also be debuting her first solo album since 2016’s Lemonade. The source revealed, “Beyoncé doesn’t have a new full album, but she is recording a couple of new tracks [for] a deluxe album filled with old songs.”
Honestly, even though Netflix is raising their prices (again) Blue, Sir, and Rumi’s mom can take all of our money right now.
