Beyoncé ‘Made the Whole Room Stop’ With Surprise Appearance and Destiney’s Child Reunion
Beyoncé makes the grandest of entrances everywhere she goes. At a recent event for Tyler Perry, she turned heads with her sparkling gold ensemble. Photos caused some to speculate whether Beyoncé is pregnant again. But, it was her reunion with former Destiny’s Child bandmates and a Dreamgirls co-star that excited fans everywhere.
Why was Beyoncé’s appearance at the event so important?
Tyler Perry’s star-studded event, which celebrated the opening of his new 330-acre studio in Atlanta, Georgia this past weekend, included appearances by Oprah, Spike Lee, Denzel Washington, and more.
“For people to drop what they’re doing in their very busy schedules to come and join me in this moment is beyond anything I could’ve imagined,” Perry told Variety. “It’s just I’m beyond. I’m over the moon right now.”
Perry was about to feel a little more joy. Beyoncé and husband, Jay-Z, made a surprise appearance in a gold-beaded gown by Yousef Al Jasmi. Jay-Z’s DeLeon tequila, Ciroc vodka, and Ace of Spades champagne were featured at the bars inside the venue, Variety reported.

Entertainment at the event included Jennifer Hudson, whom Beyoncé co-starred with in the 2006 film, Dreamgirls. “She and Beyoncé were so happy to see each other and exchanged a big hug,” the source continued.
If you’re wondering where Destiny’s Child fits in, the source added Hudson and former group member, Kelly Rowland, were spotted chatting. Surely Beyoncé took a moment to let it all sink in, seeing her two worlds collide.
Rowland and Michelle Williams — also of Destiny’s Child — posed for pictures while Beyoncé took to Instagram for a congratulatory post for Perry’s success.
“Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios. I could feel our ancestors’ presence,” she wrote. “Surrounded by my heroes, I watched Denzel, Queen Oprah, Spike, Whoopi, Sir Poitier, Will, Halle, Dame Cicely and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored.”
She added, “The Armand de Brignac crashed against each soundstage as fireworks lit up the sky. Generations of blood, sweat and tears, success, excellence and brilliance. It makes me so proud, so full, I could not stop crying.”
Will there be another Destiny’s Child reunion or Jennifer Hudson collaboration in the future?
However, he added: “It takes years to put together a tour, get the band together, get the dancers together, then decide which size venues you’re going to have, start rehearsals, and it would probably be a world tour … it would [be in] two to three years.”
It sounds pretty great but Rowland told Us Weekly in July she, Williams, and Beyoncé haven’t talked about it.” Rowland added that it “hasn’t been on our radar.”
For now, the group won’t perform together. If they plan to, expect it to be a surprise.
