Beyoncé’s Best Albums, According to Streams on Spotify
She’s a Grammy-award winning artist and one of the most influential women in the music industry. Beyoncé Knowles-Carter owns the music charts and earns billions of streams on Spotify for her albums, including Lemonade, released on Spotify in April 2019. Here’s our list of Beyoncé’s most successful singles and albums, according to streams on Spotify.
The artist always had a complicated relationship with Spotify. When she released Lemonade in 2016, the album was only available on TIDAL, Jay-Z‘s streaming service. Eventually, she released Lemonade on Spotify, amidst the success of her 2019 Netflix documentary, Homecoming.
Some of Beyoncé’s most popular songs off of this album include anthem “Formation,” already garnering over 12 million streams.
‘I Am… Sasha Fierce’
You may know her as Mrs. Carter, Yoncé, or her alter ego, Sasha Fierce. This album, I Am… Sasha Fierce, kickstarted that era for Beyoncé. Some of her most popular radio hits appear on this record, including “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” “Halo,” and “If I Were A Boy.”
This was her second album to surpass one billion streams on Spotify. Her song, “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It),” currently has over 230 million plays.
Beyoncé’s second album, released in 2007, still packs a big punch. When the artist first released this album, songs like “Irreplaceable” won awards like the 2007 Soul Train Music Award for “Best R&B/Soul Single.” Now, “Irreplaceable” has over 245 million streams on Spotify.
Her song “Listen” appeared in the Motion Picture Dreamgirls. Today, that song has over 60 million streams on Spotify. Other songs, like “Deja Vu” and “Kitty Kat,” had their own moment during Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance, featured in the Netflix documentary Homecoming.
‘Homecoming: The Live Album’
Beyoncé’s most recent Spotify release, Homecoming: The Live Album shares all the best moments of her Coachella performance with Spotify streamers. The album even includes a few bonus tracks, like “Before I Let Go” that caught the internet’s attention.
Following the release of Homecoming, Beyoncé created a viral challenge video, called the #BeforeILetGoChallenge, where fans showed off their best dance moves to Beyoncé’s new song. “Before I Let Go” currently has 14 million streams on Spotify.
The Homecoming documentary earned praise from celebrities and politicians, including Michelle Obama. “I also love that your film ‘Homecoming‘ is informed by the black leaders, thinkers, and poets who’ve paved the way for folks like us,” said Michelle Obama in an Instagram post.
‘Beyoncé [Platinum Edition]’
Beyoncé’s self-titled album was her first to reach over a billion plays on Spotify. This 2014 release includes hits like “Drunk In Love,” featuring her husband Jay-Z, that have over 360 million streams on Spotify.
In 2018, Beyoncé’s album, entitled 4, was her third album to reach over one billion streams on Spotify. That makes her the first female artist in Spotify’s history to have three albums surpass the billion stream mark. She reached this milestone before Lemonade was even released on Spotify.
Some of 4‘s most popular songs include “Run The World (Girls),” “Best Thing I Never Had,” and “Love On Top.” Her chart-topping hit, “Love On Top,” earning over 275 million streams alone.
