‘Big Brother 21′: Isabella Wang Has a Surprising Response to Jack Matthews’ Comment That Angered Fans

This season of Big Brother has been full of controversy. That partially is because of what Jack Matthews said on the live feeds. He made a comment about Isabella Wang that angered fans. Find out what her surprising response is to the comment.

Jack Matthews made a rice pudding comment when talking about Isabella Wang

Matthews has angered a lot of fans through his actions on the live feeds. Most of his comments haven’t been seen on the show.

One comment that got a lot of attention is what he said about Kemi Fakunle. Fans made a petition calling for him to be removed from the competition.

“Jack Matthews has said numerous racist things and has been very aggressive towards the only black woman in the Big Brother house, including saying he wants to ‘stomp a mud hole through her chest.’ He needs to be expelled for Kemi’s safety and to show that it’s not okay to be racist in 2019, especially on tv,” read the petition.

More recently the majority of the house started turning against Wang. When a group of them started talking about her, Tommy Bracco is heard saying, “the proof is in the pudding.” Matthews piled on by saying “in the rice pudding.” This got a lot of fans talking once again about the racism in the house.

Producers responded to the fan backlash in a joint statement

Fans and stars from past seasons weren’t afraid to show their anger on social media and through petitions over the racism. Producers responded through a joint statement.

“BIG BROTHER is a multi-platform reality competition show about a group of people who live in a house for several months with no contact from the outside world.  The audience is able to view the show during the multiple weekly broadcasts as well as on the 24/7 live, online stream, which captures unedited content of the contestants unfiltered moments in the House,” read the statement according to People.

It then continued with, “At times, the Houseguests say things that we do not condone. We share some of the viewers’ concerns about inappropriate behavior and offensive comments, and producers have addressed specific incidents with the Houseguests involved. However, there is absolutely no truth that the casting of the show is racially motivated, that the Houseguests’ behavior is predetermined or that the outcome is controlled in any way.”

Wang said she has a lot of respect for Matthews

Many fans would understand if Wang didn’t have kind words for Matthews after his comment. However, she has a very different response.

I was made aware of it, but I personally have not seen any of the show for myself,” the evicted houseguest told Entertainment Weekly. “And I think that is probably something me and Jack can talk about after this show. Based on me being evicted and things like that, I really felt like kind of put myself in this own boat.”

She continued, “So I have a lot of respect for Jack. I know that everyone in that house, we’re all good people. I love everyone and this is a game and we’re a lot of hotheads put into a room and we’re entertaining and it’s fun. And I don’t regret any of the experiences and I don’t regret like the connections I’ve made.”

However, everything on the subject isn’t over between them. She said she wants to see him making the comment for herself. “Yeah, I think so. I would definitely have to discuss it with him and see what his intentions were that he said that.”

Matthews is still in the game although many fans are rooting against them. Fans will have to wait and see if Wang will have any more to say after watching the show.
