‘Big Brother 23’ Week 3 Spoilers: Who Won Power of Veto, and Will It Change the Target?

[SPOILER ALERT: This article contains Big Brother 23 spoilers.]

After it became clear that Brandon Frenchie would become the second evicted houseguest of Big Brother 23, Brent Champagne began forming alliances, attempting to save himself. However, many other houseguests targeted him as they considered him a dangerous player moving forward, and some female houseguests noted he made them feel “uncomfortable.” Xavier Prather won the next Head of Household competition, with several of his allies wanting him to take the shot at Brent. Will he, and did the Power of Veto winner shift the target?

A couple of big alliances formed following Frenchie’s eviction

During Brandon “Frenchie” French’s Head of Household, he and Brent Champagne became very close and created a final two pact.

Other houseguests noticed their tight relationship and noted they felt Brent began acting like his second-in-command. Shortly before Frenchie’s eviction, Brent wanted to guarantee his safety and formed a couple of large alliances with other teams.

Without asking teammates Derek Xiao, Whitney Williams, and Hannah Chaddha, he aligned with the Kings’ Alyssa Lopez, Xavier Prather, Sarah Beth Steagall, and Christian Birkenberger, naming it The Radicals.

Brent also formed The Mafia with the Queens’ Claire Rehfuss, Kyland Young, and Tiffany Michell. Finally, the Queens and Kings, including Aces’ Derek X., combined to form the Royal Flush.

During the formation, the Queens came clean about the Mafia alliance but claimed they only agreed to make Brent, their next target, feel safe.

Xavier is the new Head of Household

Following Frenchie’s eviction, the houseguests faced off in the next Head of Household competition, hosted by Celebrity Big Brother’s Tom Green.

The majority of the house only wanted to compete until Brent dropped out, which happened fairly early into the competition.

Ultimately, Xavier correctly answered a question the several remaining houseguests missed, earning the HOH title. Xavier has laid low for the first couple of weeks, forming bonds with many of the other players.

Including the Radials and Royal Flush, he’s aligned with the Cookout (Derek Frazier, Azah Awasum, Kyland, Tiffany, and Hannah). He also has a final three with Derek F. and Kyland, leaving Britni D’Angelo the only player outside his extensive web.

Christian won Week 3 Power of Veto

Going into the third HOH, the majority of the house agreed Brent had to go next, noting he made a few girls “uncomfortable” and considered him one of the most dangerous social competitors moving forward.

Xavier agreed to take the shot and opted to nominate Britni as the pawn, as they had no allegiance to each other. Before nominations, Tiffany worked alongside her Cookout ally by winning the Wildcard Competition so that Britni couldn’t have safety for the week.

The HOH, his two nominees, Derek F., Whitney, and Christian, played for the Power of Veto, with the latter walking away with the medallion around his neck.

Christian will likely not use the POV, keeping nominations the same and presumably resulting in the eviction of Brent. Big Brother 23 airs Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays on CBS.
