Black Panther vs Captain Marvel: Who Should Lead the MCU’s Next Saga?

Black Panther and Captain Marvel are both very heroic. Either one of them would make a fine leader that Marvel would focus on in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In the end, however, Marvel will have to choose one hero to be the focal point.

Though both heroes should be considered, one of them has to win above the other. It may help to lay out the arguments for both heroes and then to come to a conclusion. These heroes are both spectacular in their own right, so it will not be an easy task to find the winner.

Why should Black Panther lead over Captain Marvel?

T’challa is obviously very heroic. But what, besides his heroism, would make him a good leader for the MCU? According to ScreenRant, one factor is that he was born to be a leader. As the son of a king, he was taught from birth how to rule.

That would make him not only a good leader in the Marvel universe but would also endear him to many fans. Which leads to our next reason, T’challa, also known as Black Panther, is a fan-favorite character. Though that is not necessarily necessary, it would be helpful. Fans are going to be more likely to want to follow a character they like rather than one they dislike or aren’t interested in.

Another reason is that Black Panther is more involved in the MCU as a whole. He is connected to characters like Bucky Barnes, who he helped — with a lot of assistance from his sister Shuri — and he fought with the Avengers many times. With all of this in mind, it seems that Black Panther is the focal point the MCU needs. However, a strong case can be made for Captain Marvel as well.

Why should Captain Marvel lead over Black Panther?

Captain Marvel is also very heroic. Yet what, besides her heroism, would make her a good leader for the MCU? Well, she’s a fresh face. Unlike Black Panther, she did not play an important role in the Infinity Saga.

This means that she is brand new and therefore there are so many avenues to be explored with Captain Marvel. Her leading the MCU would also mean expanding it farther into the universe. That would be exciting for fans as it would mean visiting more planets and saving more people.

Captain Marvel also has a larger responsibility with protecting the entire universe and that would mean endless possibilities story-wise. She is also a full member of the Avengers, unlike Black Panther who has his own responsibilities as the King of Wakanda.

With all this in mind, Captain Marvel is a strong candidate for the leader of the MCU in the future.

So who wins?

In the end, it’s up to Marvel executives to decide. We think that either Black Panther or Captain Marvel would be a good choice to lead the MCU. Perhaps Captain Marvel wins by a little, but that’s mostly due to her newness, the vast story possibilities she brings, and the fact that she’s an Avenger.

Black Panther and Captain Marvel are two of the most heroic heroes you can get. They always keep us enthralled with the action that goes on in the story. We love to watch them.
