Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani Attend Mass as Wedding Rumors Gain Steam
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are getting into the holiday spirit – and fans are loving it. The couple was spotted attending a Christmas Eve mass with her three boys and seemed happier than ever to be spending the holidays together. After over four years of dating, are Shelton and Stefani on the verge of taking their romance to the next level?
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani attend Christmas Eve mass
The country crooner and the No Doubt frontwoman looked super close as they headed out to a Christmas Eve mass at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church.
An inside source told Radar Online that the pair held hands and showed lots of affection throughout the service. Stefani’s three boys, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo, were also on hand for the event.
“Gwen and Blake held hands and were so sweet with each other at the Church. They hugged and kissed during the peace offering,” the source stated.
The eyewitness added that The Voice stars were very giving when it came to the donation. Shelton even gave Kingston some cash to put in the offering basket, which goes to show how close they have become over the years.
Naturally, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also sang loudly with everyone else in the crowd and seemed genuinely pleased to be belting out some Christmas carols. Photos from the service have yet to emerge, but we are sure they all looked super cute.
Why haven’t Shelton and Stefani exchanged vows?
Given Stefani’s strict Roman Catholic upbringing, it makes perfect sense that she took her boys to the service. What is interesting about the Christmas Eve mass, however, is that insiders claim a religious issue is keeping the pair from exchanging vows.
A source recently claimed that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani were serious about their relationship from the very beginning and always had marriage in their plans.
But there was a small detail that prevented them from tying the knot – and it has something to do with Stefani’s religion.
Being a devout Catholic, Stefani allegedly does not agree in divorce and re-marriage. To that end, she has been trying to get the church to annul her first marriage to Gavin Rossdale. Once that happens, she will be free to wed Blake Shelton.
The only problem with that is the Catholic Church is kind of famous for not annulling marriages. Considering how Stefani and Rossdale were together for over a decade, there is little chance the church will honor her request.
Gwen Shelton and Blake Stefani spotted shopping
Stefani and Shelton have not commented on the wedding rumors, though they have both been very open about their love for each other in previous interviews.
While fans wait for an official engagement announcement, the two were recently spotted doing some last-minute shopping before the holidays.
A few days before Christmas, the couple was caught unloading a basket full of groceries at a store in Los Angeles. Blake Shelton wore his usual jeans and boots while Gwen Stefani looked stylish in a red and white jacket and dark pants.
We cannot say for sure, but it looked like the pair were getting supplies for Christmas Eve bash that was probably amazing.
Shelton and Stefani started dating in the fall of 2015. Their relationship heated up in the wake of their respective divorces from Miranda Lambert and Rossdale, respectively.
Shelton talks about his latest duet
Aside from their epic romance and competing against each on The Voice, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have released a few duets over the years.
This holiday season, the pair teamed up for a song titled “Nobody But You,” which was featured on Blake Shelton’s latest album, Fully Loaded: God’s Country. The track was a huge hit with fans and reached the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs.
This actually marked the first time Stefani has made the country music charts, making the track a pretty big deal for the couple.
While Shelton is not the one who originally wrote the song, he has immense respect for the authors, Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally, Tommy Lee James, and Josh Osborne. In a recent interview, Shelton admitted that the song is the perfect representation of where things stand in his life – which is why he convinced Stefani to sing it with him.
“It fits my story,” Blake Shelton stated. “I was about to go in and record when I decided that it needed Gwen on it — because it is our song. I think it’s magic.”
