Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s Top 5 Moments of 2020
But they still found a way to reach the top of the charts and give fans the news they’ve waited years to hear. Here are Shelton and Stefani’s five best moments of 2020.
5. Apollo’s 6th birthday
Stefani and Shelton have been together since 2015. During that time, the God’s Country singer has developed a close bond with Stefani’s three boys – Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo – who she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
When Apollo turned 6 on February 28, Stefani posted a pic on Instagram that featured her, Shelton, and Apollo holding his birthday cake decorated with Oreo cookies. In the caption, Stefani chose to use the word “us” while referencing her and Shelton as parents, and fans took notice.
Stefani wrote, “6 years ago GOD blessed us w this little angel 👼 boy 🙏🏻 #thankyouGOD #happybirthday #APOLLO GX.”
“He [Shelton] is a good dad, actually,” Stefani told TODAY’s Hoda Kotb in 2019. “He’s been helping me out a lot, so I literally get to the point where I’m like, ‘You gotta get home, I need help.’”
4. Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani hit #1
In May, Shelton and Stefani threw a party for the family at his Oklahoma ranch while they were in quarantine. They were celebrating Stefani and Shelton’s duet Nobody But You reaching the top of the charts.
To mark the occasion, Stefani posted a video of her and Shelton sharing a kiss. In the caption, she wrote, “Number one party! Thank you!!”
3. #1, again
Nobody But You was just the first duet from Shelton and Stefani that reached number one. In December, the couple celebrated their second chart-topping hit, Happy Anywhere.
“I don’t know how the hell this keeps happening, but I couldn’t be more grateful that it does,” Shelton told CMT. “Thank you to the songwriters, the music makers, the fans… thank you to my team and to country radio… and, of course, thank you to the incredible Gwen Stefani. Wishing everyone health and safety. We hope that y’all can be Happy Anywhere this holiday season.”
2. Gwen finally beats Blake on ‘The Voice’
In September, Stefani re-joined the cast of The Voice as a coach for season 19 alongside Shelton. He’s been a staple on the reality singing competition since it debuted in 2011, and has won the show seven times.
Meanwhile, Stefani had previously appeared on the show in seasons 7, 9, 12, and 17 without scoring a single victory. Finally, in December 2020, Stefani scored her first victory with 15-year-old contestant Carter Rubin. As USA Today notes, Stefani promised in a series promo ahead of season 19 that she would defeat Shelton.
“Blake won last season, but I’m back this season and I’m going to get a win,” Stefani said.
To make things even more dramatic, the final two contestants of the show were from Team Shelton and Team Stefani.
“To be a fly on the wall at the after party,” host Carson Daly joked after the finale reveal.

Right now, they are focusing on staying safe and isolating.”
