Blake Shelton Answers If He’ll Do a Duet Album With Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have multiple duets
The couple started dating in 2015. It didn’t take long for them to start releasing music together.
Their first duet was “Go Ahead And Break My Heart” in 2016. The breakup song is fitting given Shelton recently went through his divorce with Miranda Lambert and Stefani split from Gavin Rossdale before they dated.
Their songs have been less bittersweet after that. They released “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” a year later for the holiday.
This year they released “Nobody But You” and months later they released “Happy Anywhere.” The couple has been open about the fact that the songs are tied to their relationship.
Shelton revealed the meaning behind their newest songs
Stefani and Shelton have been isolating together in Oklahoma on his ranch. Shelton was able to finish up a season of The Voice from their home. It looks like the couple has also been working on music since they released “Happy Anywhere.”
“Even though Gwen and I just had a single out we decided that, under the circumstances, this year… man, there’s never been a better time for ‘Happy Anywhere,’” Shelton said in a press release according to Entertainment Tonight.
“We’ve all been in quarantine and lockdown, and hopefully we’ve been doing that with somebody that we really love and enjoy being around,” he continued. “That’s what happened with Gwen and me this summer — and this entire year.”
A music video was also released showing clips of their time together. Shelton is seen fishing and hanging out on the land with the singer. They are also seen celebrating Shelton’s birthday with him blowing out his birthday candles.
The lyrics talk about a couple being happy together anywhere. It might make fans wonder if they’re working on more music together during isolation.
He won’t do a duet album
The country singer might release more duet singles with his girlfriend, but fans shouldn’t expect a whole album. He explained the reason why.
“It’s hard for me, honestly,” Shelton said on the Bobby Bones Show. “The more and more time that goes by I’m starting to wonder why even do an album at all. I’m having a blast just putting out singles.”
However, he might change his mind. “Maybe at the end of 10 or 20 years here, we’ll have enough duets together that we can put ‘em all together as a hits package. I don’t know,” he said.
It looks like the couple don’t have any plans to do a joint album. At least fans know they’re open to releasing more music, which might be packaged one day.
