Blake Shelton Jokes That His Relationship with Gwen Stefani Is a ‘Head-Scratcher’
Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani met by working together on The Voice. Years later they have been in a serious relationship and sometimes they still look like complete opposites given she’s into pop music and he’s all about country.

Blake Shelton was shocked time with Gwen Stefani is flying by
Shelton and Stefani went from working together on The Voice to close friends during her second season on the show. That’s because he announced he was getting a divorce and she was going through one too.
“She didn’t tell me much, because we didn’t know each other at the time, but she said, ‘I’m going through something very similar to what you’re going through. I understand. And I hate it,’” Shelton revealed to Billboard. Eventually, that friendship grew to something more.
This year the couple made it to four years together since they started dating. The country singer talked about being shocked by this.
“It’s actually shocking that it has already been that long,” he told People. “It’s kind of a blur. It still feels like it’s pretty new to me. I guess it is, relatively. Four years isn’t forever, but man, it seems like it just happened in no time.”
Stefani said they go together perfectly despite their differences
The couple has talked about how different they are publicly. In the recent season of The Voice, Stefani gave some advice to two contestants she matched for a battle round.
She noted that Royce Lovett and Kiara Brown had very different vibes. “It’s like me and Blake,” the coach said on the show. “We do not seem like we would go together, but we fit together perfectly.”
He called their relationship a head-scratcher
The couple got a lot of attention throughout their relationship for seemingly be so different. Shelton seems to be agree and can joke about it.
“If you thought the People magazine cover was shocking, mine and Gwen’s relationship is probably the biggest head-scratcher,” he joked with Martina McBride on her podcast, Vocal Point according to People.
He also explained why he and Stefani didn’t really connect during her first season on The Voice. She was very busy after a big life change.
“I’ll even say that she was, of all the coaches, the least that I had gotten to know the first season she was on the show because she had just had a baby, and I mean just had a baby,” he explained.
He continued, “And so any time there was downtime, she was busy. She was gone, she was on her trailers, she was taking care of the baby, you know, and there was never those moments that usually happen on this show, where at the end of the day we’re sitting around out here at the couches and having a drink, talking, laughing.”
Stefani went from the coach he’d knew the least to now being one of the closest people in his life.
