Blake Shelton’s Fake Skin Care Routine Is Too Gross to Be Real

In 2001, a young twenty-something from Ada, Oklahoma, struck it big in Nashville with his debut single. The song, “Austin” could be heard on country music radio stations across the nation.

The mullet sporting guy behind the song went by the name Blake Shelton. Hardly anyone would have guessed at the time that Shelton would go on to have the career he has had, or that he would actually be named the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People Magazine in 2017.

While Shelton earned the title of “Sexiest Man Alive,” his style in the early 2000s was undoubtedly questionable. Back in the day, Shelton also utilized a very unique skincare routine. Read on to learn more about Shelton’s old skincare routine and how Gwen Stefani has helped him clean up his act.

If you’re looking to adopt a new skincare routine, don’t go looking to Shelton for advice. After being named the “Sexiest Man in Country Music” in 2008, comedian Jeff Foxworthy asked Shelton what his secrets to being so sexy were. Shelton let Foxworthy in on his go-to skincare routine to keep him looking young and handsome.

In the interview, Shelton joked: “I like to use saline solution when I put my contacts in, it tends to run down my face when I put them in. [That’s what gives me that glow], and people don’t realize what it does.”

While this may have been Shelton’s go-to skincare routine in the early 2000s, you might look for skincare advice somewhere else if you want real results.

Living life as one of the sexiest men alive

Since hitting the music scene in the early 2000s, Shelton has stolen the hearts of many. He has also routinely been named one of the sexiest men alive, against many star-studded celebrities. Shelton has always had that star power.

Even with that mullet, he joked to Foxworthy that he kept clean with a saline solution too. If only it were so easy for everyone to maintain beauty with the power of the saline solution.

Shelton has never put much stock into being voted the “Sexiest Man Alive” and routinely makes jokes about his appearance. Shelton is a country boy at heart and has never really gotten into the industry’s fashion expectations.

However, Shelton’s style certainly has changed over the years and mostly for the better. Luckily for Shelton, he has met some women throughout his life that have helped him achieve more stylish looks, more attractive hairstyles, and better skincare routines too. One of these amazing women is Shelton’s soon to be wife, Gwen Stefani.

Gwen Stefani is helping Blake improve his game

Shelton’s wife-to-be is a music legend in her own right. Stefani hit the music scene in the 1990s as the lead vocalist in the band No Doubt. Stefani had great success with the band and has found tremendous success in her solo career as well.

While their music styles are very different, the two stars path’s eventually crossed in 2015. Stefani and Shelton actually met for the first time on the singing competition The Voice, where they were both acting as coaches.

The couple has been together for nearly five years now and is looking to tie the knot soon. The pair seemingly come from different worlds but somehow have achieved a dynamic that works well for their relationship.

Stefani and Shelton have both learned a lot from one another, on their show, in the music industry, and in life in general. For Blake’s sake, hopefully, one thing Stefani has taught him is a proper skincare routine that goes beyond saline solution.
