Before Travis Barker found love with Kourtney Kardashian, he was looking for UFOs with his Blink-182 bandmate, Tom DeLonge. DeLonge has been obsessed with UFOs and other conspiracy theories since he started making music with Blink-182. Being the good friend that he is, Barker joined DeLonge on some of his hunts.

In 2019, Barker talked about DeLonge’s UFO obsession on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan asked if DeLonge talks about UFOs all the time.

“He always did,” Barker said. “We used to get loaded and just look out the bus window. I used to do it with him as like-I don’t know, it’s kind of a bonding experience. If you wanted to show me bow and arrows whatever while we’re on tour, I’d sit there and check it out.

“So, with Tom, that was his thing. ‘Let’s get high and look for UFOs.’ So we would. We’d just sit there and stare out the bus window and look at UFOs.”

What else could they do, though, stuck on a bus?

DeLonge tried getting Barker to go on a hunt for Big Foot

The Blink-182 singer didn’t just want to look for UFOs. He tried to hunt for other mythical creatures closer to Earth, including Big Foot. However, that’s where Barker drew the line.

Barker continued, “He would even go as far as, when we were on tour, like ‘Let’s go and f***ing look for Big Foot,’ whatever it was, and he would assemble a crew, and they would go do it. He never got me on one of those trips because that was just too fairytale for me.

“It’s really not something he just got in to. From the day I f***ing met him, he was obsessed with UFOs and aliens and was always very passionate about it. To the point where like I didn’t know enough to have any kind of, I guess like opinion on it, I was just very open, and you know just took it all in. But nothing has changed.

“The other day I talked to him, he’s like, ‘I’m on my way to the f***ing White House, bro.’ [Laughs] And I don’t ask any questions, I’m just like, ‘As you should be.’ You know, like whatever.”

“Even on tour, he walks in my room and be like, ‘Dude, f***king George Bush just did…’ He’s just coming at me with some politics, he’s been watching CNN. He’s always been obsessed with it.”

Barker would never be able to dedicate his life to proving conspiracy theories are real

Barker thinks there could be some extraterrestrial life out in the universe, but he’s not about to drop his successful career to prove it’s real like DeLonge has done. Delonge walked away from Blink-182 to hunt for aliens.

“I feel like it could be real, I believe, but I’m not dedicating my life to search for it, you know?” Barker continued. “I give it to him, man, honestly, to walk away from your f***ing very successful band, to go do that s***? I have nothing but respect for his passion, but it’s like I couldn’t do that. It really shows like he’s very very passionate about it.”

What Barker is passionate about is his new wife, and we don’t expect they’ll go hunting for Big Foot or UFOs anytime soon.
