‘Blue Bloods’: Will Eddie’s Father, Armin Janko Ever Get Released from Prison?
Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) has a father that isn’t usually seen on Blue Bloods because he’s in prison. She does talk about him sometimes, which might have fans wondering when will he be released? Could we ever see Armin
(William Sadler) at the weekly Reagan family dinner one day? Here is the answer to that and more.
Armin Janko is serving time for being part of a Ponzi scheme
Eddie and Jamie (Will Estes) might have fallen in love, but they have very different families. The Reagans have family dinner every week and are close. Eddie’s family has been torn apart because of her father breaking the law and having affairs while married to her mother.
The police officer’s father is now spending time behind bars. That’s because he was part of a scam. Armin acted as a financial advisor for a Ponzi scheme company. He was eventually taken down and is in prison.
The father was first seen in the episode, “Absolute Power” when he gets confronted by Eddie. We have seen how Eddie and her mother, Lena (Christine Ebersole) have been dealing with the consequences of his crimes
since he has been away.
He won’t be out of prison for another 3 to 5 years
Blue Bloods fans got to see Armin again in the episode, “Identity.” That’s because he reached out to Jamie (Will Estes) to try to go to their wedding.
Jamie asked Armin when he’s supposed to be out and the father said he won’t be released for three to five years. That means Armin will probably miss out on a lot more things and that includes Jamie and Eddie’s wedding. The show sometimes follows each season as a year so it’s possible Armin won’t be released until Season 12.
It doesn’t look like Armin has changed in Season 9
It’s possible that the father reflected on his past actions and decided to change his ways while behind bars. However, it doesn’t look like that’s the case in Season 9.
When Armin reaches out to Jamie from prison he asks to keep their meeting secret from Eddie. They meet and the father claims that Eddie has been writing him letters ever since they got engaged. He said that his daughter wants him to be at the wedding and asked him for advice on how to make a marriage work.
All of that was just to work Jamie into getting him out of prison for 12 hours The truth comes out when Eddie goes to the prison with Jamie. It turns out she never wrote him any letters. The whole thing was probably a ploy for another con.
The interesting thing is that Armin probably could get out quickly if he turned a new leaf. After all, Frank (Tom Selleck) is going to be Eddie’s father-in-law and he is the police commissioner. But Armin is still up to his old tricks so fans might not see him again for quite some time.
