‘Boy Meets World’: What Are the Main Cast Members Doing Now?
Danielle Fishel, also known as Topanga from Boy Meets World, has been making headlines recently after giving birth to her first baby. The experience was a whirlwind for both Fishel and fans. Her baby boy spent some time in the NICU, but to everyone’s relief, he was discharged and seems to be thriving.
Seeing Fischel’s name in the news may have some fans wondering about the other Boy Meets World cast members. The show was big in the 1990s, and recently fans got to see more of the Matthews family in Girl Meets World, a spinoff that aired in 2014. So what else have these stars been up to?
Corey and Shawn are college graduates
On the show, Corey Matthews and his best friend Shawn attended college together. Although these two actors did go to college after the show was canceled, they went to different schools.
After his role as Corey Matthews on Boy Meets World ended, Ben Savage graduated from Stanford University. He has appeared in a few things since then, including Bones, and Criminal Minds.
Rider Strong, the actor who played Corey’s best friend Shawn Hunter, also went on to academic success after Boy Meets World. Rider went to Columbia University and graduated with honors. He’s continued his acting career, with roles in Bones, Castle, and Veronica Mars.
Corey’s brother Eric is a voice actor
Will Friedle, the actor who played Corey Matthews’ quirky older brother Eric, has gone on to be a successful voice actor. He jumped into voice acting after Boy Meets World ended when Disney cast him as the voice of Ron Stoppable on the show Kim Possible. It seems like Friedle found his niche with voice acting because he’s been cast in a lot of voice roles since then. Also, he’s hilarious on Twitter.
Mr. Feeny is still active at 90
It’s hard to believe that the actor who played Mr. Feeny could be that old. William Daniels is still acting and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Since Boy Meets World ended, he has acted in quite a few popular TV shows, including The Closer and Grey’s Anatomy. He’s also had roles in various movies.
Many of the original stars returned for ‘Girl Meets World’
Mr. Feeny came back for Girl Meets World, and fans wouldn’t have it any other way. Many of the other actors from the original show came back for the spinoff, which ran from 2014 to 2017 on the Disney Channel.
Mr. and Mrs. Matthews, played by William Russ and Betsy Randle, had guest spots on the show. Randle has had a somewhat quiet career since Boy Meets World. Her last TV appearance before coming back for Girl Meets World was in 2004. In contrast, Russ has been in numerous shows and movies since the end of Boy Meets World.
Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel had starring roles, of course, as parents to Maya, the show’s main character. Will Friedle and Rider Strong also reprised their roles as Eric and Shawn, respectively.
Since Girl Meets World ended, it seems like the cast still gets together for events. There are multiple pictures of the gang on both Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel’s Instagram accounts.
Now that Girl Meets World has been off the air for a few years, fans are excited to see what the crew does next. Hopefully there will be another opportunity for the group to work together in the future, since the chemistry these actors have is part of what made Boy Meets World so magical.
