Brad Pitt Could Cause Angelina Jolie to Lose Her Children in a Shocking Court Case

It’s been a rocky few years for Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The former couple, who had been together since they met on the set of the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith, shockingly ended their 11-year relationship in September 2016. Jolie stunned everyone when she filed for divorce seemingly out of the blue and requested primary custody of her children.

The actress’ decision to pull the plug on her marriage steemed from a shocking airplane incident where a drunk and belligerent Pitt began acting out, scaring Jolie and their six children. Since then, Jolie has only been in the press briefly to promote her film, First They Killed My Father. In interviews, she stated that her main focus has been on healing and protecting her children.

Pitt has also come forward, admitting he’s battling an alcohol addiction, but he’s working on his sobriety and reconnecting with his children. Now, nearly two years later, the pair are gearing up for a massive child custody battle.

  • Jolie didn’t work for a year after filing for divorce 

When Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, she was award primary custody of her children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. A year after the shocking plane incident, she spoke with People about her relationship with her babies.

She explained, “I haven’t worked for over a year now because [my children] needed me home. Everything was just stopped. I’m really sitting and talking with them because everything affects them. Every location, every type of project, I’m going to have to adjust it to however much they can handle.”

She also told the New York Times, “They’re the best friends I’ve ever had. Nobody in my life has ever stood by me more.”

  • The courts want the Jolie Pitt children to have a healthy relationship with both of their parents 

Obviously, addiction and alcoholism can be terrifying, especially when it’s exposed to minor children. However, now that Pitt has made strides to get healthy, a judge is making sure that he begins to repair his relationship with his children.

In fact, according to court documents obtained by The Blast, a judge in the ongoing Jolie Pitt divorce case said, “Not having a relationship with their father is harmful to them. It is critical that each of them have a healthy and strong relationship with their father and mother.”

  • Jolie must give Pitt access to her children or risk losing primary custody to him

Jolie could lose primary custody of her children if she doesn’t take the steps to help them reconnect with their father. According to the court documents obtained by The Blast, a judge said,

“The minor children remain closed down to their father and depending on the circumstances surrounding this condition, it may result in a reduction of the time they spend with [Jolie] and may result in the Court ordering primary physical custody to [Pitt].”

  • Jolie must allow Pitt phone access to their children at all times

The judge is not leaving it up to the Maleficent actress’ discretion to begin implementing changes for her children and Pitt to bond. Instead, the judge has outlined detailed steps that the actress-director must follow. According to People, Jolie must provide her ex with the cell phone number of each child and allow him to call anytime.

Additionally, the judge has ordered that the Tomb Raider star is not to read any of the text messages sent between the children and their father. She must also not monitor their phone calls in any way.

  • Pitt and Jolie’s children will split their time between London and Los Angeles 

The judge also outlined a detailed visitation schedule that Pitt and Jolie must adhere to. However, their eldest child, Maddox Jolie Pitt can make his own choices regarding where he wants to spend his time.

From June 8-17, while Jolie shoots Maleficent 2 in London, Pitt will be able to see his kids for a least four hours at a time, taking two children at a time. Jolie is not allowed to be present at all. If this goes well, from June 27 through July 1, he will get the children for 10 hours a day, with a child therapist present.

From July 8 through July 14, Pitt will spend four consecutive days with the kids. Then from July 21 through July 29, Pitt gets custody of the kids when he returns to California. He will then pay to get them back to London to their mother at the end of July.

  • Jolie must only call her children once a day when they are with Pitt

Since Jolie will be working tirelessly on the Maleficent 2 film set while Pitt is in London with their children, she will not have a ton of downtime. However, the judged in the couple’s court case wants to be sure that the actress does not interfere with the kids time with Pitt in any way.

According to court documents, the actress is restricted to one phone call a day with the children. It must occur at a prearranged time agreed to by both parties.

  • The former couple is both returning to the spotlight 

Since the news of their divorce hit the media, both Pitt and Jolie have been very low-key and out of the spotlight. Now that they are both returning to work full force, the court wants to be sure that their kids and happy and healthy and they can turn to either of their parents for love and support.

Insiders told People, “Jolie’s kids are continuing their school work in a designated trailer while Jolie films Maleficent 2 in London. Meanwhile, Pitt is beginning work on a new film and will juggle filming and going back forth to London to see his kids.”

  • Jolie and Pitt are actually doing OK

Though it might seem like the couple are at war, they are actually doing their best to get along. A source told People, “Brad and Angie are doing OK, working out time for him to be with the kids which he treasures.”

They also told People, “[Angelina] will focus only on their children and being with them.”
