Pitt dishes on divorce from Jolie

Jolie filed divorce papers in the fall of 2016 following a nasty spat with Pitt onboard a private plane. At the time, the couple had been married for two years and were together for over a decade.

A year after the split, Pitt opened up about his struggles with alcohol in an interview with GQ. The actor revealed that he quit drinking because he realized that he was “boozing too much.”

According to CNN, Brad Pitt talked about his battle with alcohol while promoting Ad Astra, a movie about a son’s relationship with his father. Pitt admitted that he was running away from things in his life because he wanted to avoid dealing with the pain.

“What I realized is that I was running to avoid tough feelings, painful feelings,” Pitt shared. “I just didn’t know how to deal with them. Anything I found that I used for escape.”

Pitt added that he is tired of running from things, be it alcohol, junk food, or Netflix. Instead, he faces whatever comes his way and works through it entirely before moving forward.

For Pitt, this has helped him become a much better person and has led to a lot of personal growth. Given how things have been between Pitt and Jolie, he could use all the help he can get.

In the wake of his split from Jolie, Pitt has had a hard time repairing his relationship with his oldest son, Maddox, who went off to college this year. Hopefully, Pitt’s tactics are helping him with his family relationship and will lead them all to a better place soon.

Inside Brad Pitt’s childhood

With Ad Astra exploring themes of fatherhood and masculinity, Pitt talked a little bit about his childhood and what it was like growing up in the Midwest.

The actor revealed that his dad, who was raised in poverty, always told him that his goal was to provide a better life for his children than he experienced. Pitt said that he has the same goal and thinks about making his children’s lives better all the time.

Pitt and Jolie share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. Jolie adopted Maddox a few years before she met Pitt, who legally became his guardian in 2005.

After years of fighting, Pitt and Jolie recently agreed to a custody plan that enables Pitt more time with his children. They were also recently granted single status by a judge, despite the fact that their divorce has yet to be finalized.

Pitt’s interview goes viral

Apart from promoting Ad Astra and opening up about his divorce, Pitt just took part in one of the most adorable interviews you will ever watch.

The World War Z star appeared alongside an 11-year-old journalist named Jaden Jefferson, who talked with him about working on a space movie and what he wanted to be as a child. The interview was part of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

At one point, Brad Pitt admitted that he wanted to build homes when he was a child. The conversation then turned to Jefferson’s favorite football team, the Cleveland Browns, with Pitt quizzing him about their upcoming schedule.

The interview has since gone viral and we can all agree that it might be the most adorable thing to come out of 2019. In fact, DeGeneres thought Jefferson did so well that she invited him to do another interview with a celebrity. Only next time it will be with Oprah Winfrey.

Jolie has yet to comment on Pitt’s recent interview. The actress recently dropped Maddox off at his new university in Seoul and is currently getting ready to star in Marvel’s upcoming film, The Eternals.

Fans, meanwhile, can watch Brad Pitt in action in Ad Astra, which is currently out in theaters.
