Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga Reveal Whether They’ll Ever Make Another Movie Together
Fans are still swooning over Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s performance of “Shallow” at last night’s Academy Awards. The stars of A Star Is Born wowed the Oscars audience with their intimate rendition of the song, which did nothing to squash rumors that the pair are actually madly in love in real life.
While there’s no concrete evidence that Gaga and Cooper are a couple – Cooper, for one, has a long-time girlfriend Irina Shayk, with whom he shares a child – that doesn’t mean we won’t eventually see the two together again, at least on screen.
Cooper says he’d love to work with Gaga again
When E! News asked Cooper if he’d like to work with Gaga again, his response was unequivocal. “I’d love to,” the Silver Linings Playbook star said. “Oh my God, yeah. I’d just have to … write something worthy of her.”
Gaga echoed Cooper’s comments. “Bradley, I am convinced, will be making many future films and brilliant ones,” she said backstage at the Critics Choice Awards in January. “I would of course be very happy and lucky to be working with him again. But, you know, the truth is, he’s my friend and I want him to create the art and cast the actresses and cast the cast the way that he wants.”
“As far as future collaborations, that’s going to stay secret in a locked box somewhere,” she added.
Do they have any projects in the works?
While Cooper and Gaga have both said they’d like to collaborate again, as far as we know, they don’t have a second project in the works. After all, they’ve both been pretty busy promoting (and receiving awards for) A Star Is Born. Plus, Gaga is currently performing in Las Vegas through the end of 2019.
Cooper has several upcoming projects as well. He is supposed to star in Atlantic Wall, a World War II drama directed by Gavin O’Connor. Also in the works is Bernstein, a biopic of legendary American composer Leonard Bernstein. Cooper will star in and direct the film.
Given Bernstein’s musical focus, is it possible that he and Gaga could reunite for the film? There’s no word yet on whether the “Joanne” singer will be involved in Bernstein, but given her love for musical
How Gaga feels about working with
While A Star Is Born is Lady Gaga’s first starring role in a movie, she’s long dreamed of being an actress. (The singer had previously appeared in American Horror Storyon FX and had small parts in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Machete Kills, and an episode of The Sopranos.)
At the Critics Choice Awards, she revealed that her “greatest dream” was to act, but she gave it up to focus on music. “I’m truly terrible at auditioning … It’s why I gave up trying to be an actress,” she explained.
But Gaga has said that working with Cooper allowed her to bring the character of Ally to life on screen. “It was a sanctuary of trust,” Gaga said at The Hollywood Reporter’s actress roundtable. [A]nd so when I saw that trust with Bradley, I said, ‘OK, I’m going to have to become someone that I do not have complete control over.’”
