Bravo Executives Desperately Want TLC’s T-Boz and Chilli to Join ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’, But They Aren’t Into It
It’s official, Chilli and T-Boz are not interested in becoming reality TV stars – at least not on the Real Housewives of Atlanta. The four-time Grammy winners opened up about their relationship with Bravo and exactly how many times they’ve been asked to join the cast. The duo, however, made it known that they never have plans to join the cast, and you probably won’t be surprised to hear why.
Bravo executives have approached T-Boz and Chilli more than once
Georgia natives, Tionne ‘T-Boz’ Watkins and Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas might seem like naturals for the Real Housewives franchise. After all, the outspoken former girl band stars have had fascinating lives. They are also already connected to some members of the cast. The pair worked with Kandi Burruss and still run in the same social circles as several of the wives.
Bravo has approached both T-Boz and ‘Chilli’ four separate times to star on the show, but both women have turned down executives each time. Apparently, both T-Boz and Chilli have seen enough of the show to know that they probably wouldn’t do particularly well in the drama-packed environment.
T-Boz and Chilli both think they’d end up incarcerated if they took part in RHOA.
T-Boz and Chilli sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss their upcoming plans, and the topic of the Real Housewives of Atlanta came up. T-Boz happily shared the real reason she can’t sign onto the project. She said, “This is the thing, I don’t play like that. Like, I’m not arguing, I’m too old to be arguing, and first of all, I don’t argue with nobody I don’t care about. If I care about you, I will take the time to do this. But I’m not arguing with no grown women. I’ll end up going to jail for real.”
Chilli backed up her statement, noting that she’d end up sitting next to her. The pair have endured a lot of drama in their lifetimes. T-Boz, who has sickle cell anemia, has gone through several severe health battles, including a brain tumor that doctors were reluctant to operate on. Chilli endured a very public breakup with Usher and years of speculation that Usher’s album Confessions was about her.
Together they also mourned the loss of their friend and bandmate, Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes. Lopes was killed in a car accident in Honduras in 2002.
Is the duo still working together?
While Bravo is out of the question, that doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing more from T-Boz and Chilli. In fact, that pair is set to hit the stage with Flo Rida and Nelly in August, and are rumored to be working on a Broadway musical.
According to Vulture, the duo is planning to bring the story of their friendship and career to the Broadway stage. They are even working on new music to accompany the storyline. There is no further word on when the musical would open, but fans are already interested in seeing what the “No Scrubs” singers have up their sleeves.
