Braunwyn Windham-Burke from The Real Housewives of Orange County blasted Bravo for how they treat Housewives, claiming they don’t care about the RHOC cast’s mental health.

During a recent podcast appearance, Windham-Burke addressed executive producer Andy Cohen’s remarks about her departure from the series, implying she was mentally unstable. She slammed the remarks, adding that Bravo chews up cast members and spits them out.

Braunwyn Windham-Burke says no one from Bravo cared if she was OK during ‘RHOC’

Windham-Burke said Cohen’s comments made her look unhinged. “I mean, I took it as you’re not mentally stable,” she said on the Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef podcast. “That’s how I was like, huh? That’s weird. Cause none of you talked to me. So how the hell would you know? No one talked to me, no one checked in.”

She added, “I was doing great. Was it hard to get sober? Sure. On everyone that first year is intense, but you know, that was lame. I’m probably one of the most stable Housewives there is right now. Like I put in the work, do I have issues? Absolutely. You know, I have past trauma. I have stuff. I work on them, but let’s be honest. I’ve seen many Housewives spiral and the cameras are right there, front and center. They don’t care about our mental health. That’s bulls***. Don’t even pretend to care about our mental health. You don’t, as long as we’re not a liability and we’re bringing in money.”

She became very polarizing on ‘RHOC’

She recounted her final season of Bravo’s RHOC. “I was very polarizing during Black Lives Matter,” she remarked. “I can’t keep my mouth shut about social justice.” She added, “I mean, I remember when Shannon’s [Beador] like, oh, I don’t do politics. I’m like, it’s not f***ing politics. It’s human lives. OK. Whatever. But I am very polarizing.”

“I am an out and proud liberal that fights for social justice as much as I can. That put off a lot of people, you know, I was getting death threats,” she added. “I lost tons of followers. I remember when I did the movement, not a moment asking production, not to tell my cast members because they’re going to come after me with a bullseye.”

Braunwyn Windham-Burke says ‘Housewives’ are ‘collateral damage’

Later in the podcast, she referred to the Bravo RHOC cast as being collateral damage and easily replaceable. “I mean we’re collateral damage. You know, we are easily replaceable. Never get a big head because there’s a million of us that want this opportunity and everyone thinks it’ll be different for them,” she said.

“When you’re out, you’re out. I knew. And I was fine with it,” she added about when she was fired from RHOC. “Luckily my passion is sobriety. So for me, it was like, OK, I’m going to do that. But I still have a platform to do what matters to me. And I’ve been able to thrive in that.”

“So I think it’s when you try to hold on to that, that’s when you probably have problems,” she said about trying to stay on the show. “But like I said, I totally accepted it. And if you guys are listening to this, what you don’t know is we almost did this interview like two months ago. Or three or three months, something like that. And the day before I called you and said, I can’t do it. I was having a panic attack. I can’t talk about it. My time on there was so triggering. I don’t want to say PTSD because I don’t want to minimize that. It’s not that, but it’s something similar. And I was having full-blown anxiety. Like I can’t do the interview. I’m sorry. I haven’t, I haven’t recovered from this.”
