Bravo’s Andy Cohen Misses Lauri Peterson From ‘RHOC’ (And She Has Nothing but Love for Him Too)
He was asked which alums he longed for the most and he said, “I’m a very nostalgic guy, so I go way back to the beginning to some Lauri Peterson, Lauri from OC,” he said with fondness. Cohen added he also missed Caroline Manzo from The Real Housewives of New Jersey and Sheree Whitfield from The Real Housewives from Atlanta.
But it was clear that Peterson definitely has Cohen’s heart. Showbiz Cheat Sheet reached out to Peterson, who has just as much love for the Bravo producer too.
Peterson appreciates Cohen’s vision
Peterson was truly touched when she heard that Cohen missed her from the show. “Awe, I love Andy,” she shared. “I will always have a soft spot in my heart for him! None of us knew what we were doing when we started that journey, but Andy was our first true fan!”
She could tell that Cohen had a very distinct vision for the show too. “He saw the potential of the show and understood pop culture,” she continued. “He had an innovative vision of how to grow The Real Housewives of Orange County into a franchise and creating his own identity within the franchise along the way.”
She adds, “Brilliant if you ask me!” Peterson was an original cast member on RHOC. She was a main cast member for four seasons, returning as a friend on and off until season nine. She has since turned her attention completely to her family and life with husband George Peterson.
Where is Peterson today?
Peterson is extremely busy raising her granddaughter Kennady and fighting for her son, Josh Waring. She also got her fairy tale ending and rode into the sunset with her prince, George Peterson. The couple is still as in love today as they were when they married 10 years ago. Peterson shared on Instagram, “10 years ago today on St. Patrick’s Day, I met my lucky charm @georgepeterson.”
She is also completely devoted to Kennady and is the adorable child’s biggest cheerleader. Peterson adopted Kennady when Waring, who is Kennady’s father struggled with addiction. “As most of the viewers know, I have a son and he’s had just a lot of challenges. And he and his wife had a baby almost three years ago. He’s really struggling and, well, they’re both really struggling. And so [my husband] George and I elected to help out and we actually adopted Kennady, and so we’re raising her,” Peterson told Bravo’s The Daily Dish.
Peterson has also been a fierce advocate for Waring, who spent more than three years in prison for a crime he said he didn’t commit. Waring and Peterson have spoken with Showbiz Cheat Sheet on a number of occasions about what occurred and he maintained his innocence throughout his imprisonment. Waring was finally released from prison in early March after taking a plea deal. Peterson knows her son’s journey to recovery will be lengthy. “We are just ecstatic to have him out of the system. He has been through so much. There will be a long recovery process,” she told the OC Register, “Josh is very bright, he is very capable. Unfortunately, drugs took him at a very young age.”
