‘Captain Marvel’ premiered before ‘Avengers: Endgame’
Starring Brie Larson, Captain Marvel became one of the studios’ most successful projects, taking home over a billion dollars in box office sales. That is, until Avengers: Endgame premiered a few weeks later, surpassing movies like Avatar in box office sales. Brie Larson commented on portraying Captain Marvel in the film ‘Avengers: Endgame’
This piece of Marvel trivia was included on the Avengers: Endgame audio commentary. However, Brie Larson revealed that she shot the scenes for Avengers: Endgame first during a press conference for the Marvel blockbuster.
“This film [Endgame] will always be personally dear to me because it was my first time playing Captain Marvel,” Brie Larson said during the press conference. “We shot this first so I had to stumble and figure out who this character was with no script for this and no script for Captain Marvel either and perform for the first time in front of legends. But it was incredible.”
During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Larson elaborated on her role in the Marvel movie. The actress said, “I flew to Atlanta to start shooting [‘Endgame’], had no idea what I was doing. And I arrived and they gave me a piece of paper that was a full page of dialogue and action but all of it was redacted except for my one line. I even went to hair and makeup and was like, ‘Who else is here?’ and they were like, ‘We don’t know, we don’t know.’ It wasn’t until I walked on set that I was like… ‘I’m like in a Marvel movie right now.’ And then I couldn’t talk about it.”
