‘Bringing Up Bates’ Carlin Bates Is Seriously Helping Joy-Anna Duggar With Her Grieving Process

It’s hard to believe we’ve been watching the Duggar family for over a decade, and the ones who were just kids when they first appeared on TV are growing up fast. Joy-Anna Duggar wasn’t always the center of attention, but now that she’s married to Austin Forsyth and has a family of her home, she’s garnered quite the fan base. Unfortunately, Duggar and Forsyth are mourning the loss of their recently stillborn baby girl.

With such a huge family, helpful fan base, and supportive group of friends, the couple has a number of shoulders to lean on during this difficult time. And Carlin Bates of Bringing Up Bates fame seems to be one of the most helpful of the bunch, too.

Joy-Anna Duggar recently gave birth to a stillborn baby girl

Jessa Duggar recently gave birth to a baby girl of her own, and a few other Duggars are pregnant right now, too — but it was Joy-Anna Duggar’s pregnancy that got plenty of attention. Duggar and Forsyth have a young son, Gideon, and many thought they were rushing too fast into having another baby. Even with the critique, the couple couldn’t have been happier to announce they were expecting another child. Unfortunately, E! News notes Duggar miscarried when she was 20 weeks along in her pregnancy, and she then had to deliver the stillborn baby.

The couple wrote about the ordeal on their Instagram account. “We only had her for 20 weeks, Life is fragile and precious. So thankful the Lord gave her to us for that short time! She will be in our hearts forever!” the post reads. And in another post, the couple gets personal with their grief. “Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time. Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord.”

Carlin Bates helped Joy-Anna prepare for her photo shoot with the baby

Duggar and Forsyth are taking the physical and emotional healing day by day, but they do have one fellow reality TV star who’s already helped them tremendously — and that’s Carlin Bates. Bates is one of 19 just like the Duggar kids, and she also lives in a fundamentalist Christian family. Over the years, she’s developed an ultra-close relationship with Joy-Anna Duggar — and Duggar posted on Instagram regarding how Bates helped her prepare her hair and makeup for her photo shoot with her daughter.

“Thank you, @carlinbates98 for coming to town to be here for me and for doing my hair and makeup for pictures with our little girl!” Duggar posted to Instagram. And on Bates’ page, she wrote her own blurb about the event. “I know that Jesus doesn’t promise that we will not face difficulties in this life, but He does promise to be by our side every step of the way. I’m so grateful to have a friend as precious as Joy, and I know that she would covet prayers at this hard time,” Bates wrote.

The other Duggars are offering massive support as well

The Duggars are quite close — and while Bates is offering as much support as possible, the grieving couple still has all of the other Duggars to help them, too. “Such a precious little life! Annabell is so missed. We love you so much Joy and Austin!” Anna Duggar, Josh Duggar’s wife, commented on Joy-Anna and Austin Forsyth’s Instagram photo. Joseph and Kendra Duggar also commented, “So precious. Love you all so much!!!” And Jill Duggar added a crying face and broken heart emoji to share her pain.

On Bates’ Instagram post showing her support, the Duggars also flocked to share condolences and comment on how wonderful Bates has been throughout this entire process. “Carlin you are such a sweet friend! Love you so much – thanks for being there for Joy, it means the world!” Anna Duggar commented again. We’re hoping the couple can find peace in this difficult time!
