The Shocking Reason the British Royal Family Doesn’t Want Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Give up Their Royal Titles

Duchess Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently on an extended hiatus from their royal duties. In fact, the newlywed couple and their infant son, Archie Harrison, have no plans on returning to the U.K. until 2020. Though royal fans in the United States seem to love and adore the Duke and Duchess of Sussex — the British press and public have their own ideas about the modern royal couple. Unfortunately, much of it isn’t positive.

Since marrying into the British Royal Family in May 2018 — Markle has been bullied and harassed constantly. Her estranged paternal family is always in the tabloids spreading lies about her. Also, the British press has spewed sexist and racist rhetoric about the former actress. It hasn’t helped that the duke and duchess have felt alienated from the rest of the royals, especially Prince William and Kate Middleton.

Things have gotten so bad that there has been whispers that the Sussexes might renounce their royal titles — but the British Royal Family would never want that to happen.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been hiding out in the United States

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced that they would not be attending Christmas with the British Royal Family at Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate — royal fans were not pleased. However, it’s clear that this has all been a bit much for the young couple. A spokeswoman for the royal couple said in a statement,

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month. Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland. This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of the Queen.

There are rumors that this extended hiatus has also provided the duke and duchess with the opportunity to reflect on their approach to royal life.  An insider told The Sun, “There’s an acceptance that things haven’t worked out with the Sussexes full-time in Windsor so they could have a second base in America.”

This is why the Royal Family won’t let Meghan Markle and Prince Harry quit

Despite the bumps along the way — the Sussexes are seen as vital members of the British Royal Family. Despite their desire to get a reprieve from the relentless scrutiny while giving their son a normal childhood — the royals need Markle and Prince Harry.

“I don’t think we can say for sure that they never will renounce their duties,” royal commentator Juliet Rieden told Nine News Australia. “Certainly the Royal Family would not want them to, of course. They are very valuable to the Royal Family, they are wonderful ambassadors. They are very, very popular and they are very engaging when you meet them. I have been watching the Royal Family for a long time now and Harry and Meghan have a very tactile connection with the public.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have a new strategy when they return to their royal duties

Though Markle and Prince Harry aren’t quitting — they will have a new approach to royal life when they return to their royal duties. With Prince Andrew ousted from royal life — they are needed more than ever to pick up the slack and the 230 charities that he left behind.

“That warmth is something that really benefits the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan just have to find a way to make it work for them,” Rieden explained. “It’s just like with anyone in a new job – you have to find a way to do your best but also make your skills shine.”

We’re sure these two can figure it out.
