BTS Fans Adorably Celebrated the Birthday of V’s Dog Yeontan
BTS is made up of seven members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Those unfamiliar with BTS might wonder why the name Yeontan trended all over Twitter recently. For those who don’t know, Yeontan is V’s adorable Pomeranian. On Sept. 7, 2019, Yeontan turned two years old.
BTS fans all over the world celebrated Yeontan’s birthday
Yeontan is so popular among BTS ARMY he essentially has his own fandom. Yeontan is also known as “Tan,” “Tannie,” and “Kim Yeontan” among fans and the members of BTS. For Yeontan’s birthday, BTS fans trended #KingYeontanDay, #HappyBirthdayTannie, and #HappyBirthdayYeontan on Twitter.
“#KingYeontanDay for being the best boi in the world you deserve every treat in the universe,” wrote a BTS fan on Twitter.
“Yeontan is not just a puppy, HES ALSO TAEHYUNG’S BABY, BANGTAN’S BABY & ALSO ARMY’S BABY HAPPY BIRTHDAY YEONTAAAAAN…,” another tweeted.
Jungkook from BTS turned 22 years old on Sept. 1, 2019. So many fans wrote to the singer on his birthday that Weverse and Twitter momentarily crashed. RM will turn 25 years old Sept. 12, 2019. Like Jungkook and RM, Yeontan is a Virgo because his birthday falls in September.
“yes i love the virgos in bts … namjoon, jungkook, and yeontan,” wrote a fan on Twitter.
“it’s yeontan’s birthday MY VIRGO KING,” wrote another.
Yeontan stole the show in BTS’s movie ‘Burn the Stage: The Movie’
Yeontan’s first appearance was on a VLIVE BTS hosted for Jin’s birthday on Dec. 4, 2017. V appeared in the background of the video and held up Yeontan briefly for fans to see.
“#RememberWhenBTS did a Vlive for Seokjins birthday and soon, a wild Taehyung appeared with a puppy and stan twt lost it,” wrote a fan on Twitter.
A couple weeks later, V posted a video of Yeontan on BTS’s Twitter account, officially introducing the dog to the world. Since his introduction, Yeontan appeared regularly on BTS’s VLIVE account, Twitter posts, and behind-the-scenes videos.
Yeontan appeared as a puppy in BTS’s documentary Burn the Stage: The Movie. The documentary premiered Nov. 15, 2018 and showed the group touring for their 2017 Wings Tour. Yeontan was so adorable, several videos on YouTube show the audience’s reaction to his first appearance.
The dog used to live in BTS’s dorm
When Yeontan was a puppy, he lived in the dorm with V and the other members of BTS. The group developed a very close bond with V’s dog. Because of BTS’s busy schedule, V’s parents take care of Yeontan.
Even though BTS is busy, the group is seen with Yeontan occasionally. In April 2019, Halsey uploaded a video to Twitter with BTS and Jungkook can be seen holding Yeontan in the background. In June 2019, V hosted a VLIVE for fans and told them that he missed Yeontan because while he toured the dog stayed with his parents.
“I miss Yeontannie so much. Tannie is really quiet, but his actions are loud telling you to play with him. My mom sent me a video recently. Tannie saw a cat while on a walk and got excited, but Tannie runs away,” he said in the VLIVE.
Later that month, a fan encountered V’s mom walking Yeontan and uploaded pictures of the dog to Twitter. For fans who purchased the BTS Memories of 2018 DVD, there are several clips of Yeontan interacting with the group. The members of BTS also regularly tweet about how much they miss Yeontan when they travel.
