RM collaborated with Lil Nas X in 2019
In July 2019, RM collaborated with Lil Nas X to make “Seoul Town Road,” a remix of Lil Nas X’s viral hit, “Old Town Road.” Lil Nas X released several remixes of the song including ones with Young Thug, Cyrus, and Ramsey.
“Old Town Road” was a viral hit, and the remix with Cyrus peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It set a record by remaining there for a record-breaking 19 consecutive weeks.
The song was the first song in 2019 to be diamond certified by the Recording Industry Association of America. It was also the first song in RIAA history to reach the required certification so quickly.

The “Old Town Road All-Stars” performance opened with Lil Nas X singing in a set designed to look like a living room. The room featured a live TV and a Kobe Bryant jersey on a chair.
As Lil Nas X sang, the stage began to rotate and Lil Nas X opened the door to reveal the members of BTS. The Korean group performed “Seoul Town Road” with Lil Nas X. While brief, the performance was history in the making.
The rapper moved to the next room and performed Young Thug’s verse from a different “Old Town Road” remix. In the next room, he performed with Ramsey and Diplo, who produced the remix.
Then Lil Nas X and Cyrus performed a verse of their remix together. At the end of the set, Lil Nas X performed with every person he collaborated with on the history-making song. Surprising everyone in the audience, he then performed “Rodeo” with Nas.

It’s only January, and BTS have made history multiple times in 2020. While BTS’s performance at the Grammy Awards made history, it showed just a glimpse of what the rest of 2020 holds for the group.
