BTS’ Jungkook to Be the First K-pop Artist with a Fan-Created Spotify Ad for His Birthday

The BTS army earns their “Choice Fandom” Teen Choice Awards. Even though the boy band is currently on a break from live performances, the fanbase is still alive and well, planning a creative birthday gift for Jungkook. Learn more about the first Spotify Ad paid for by an artist’s fans here.

Jungkook is a member of the K-Pop group BTS

The army is a fanbase full of love and support for this K-Pop group. As one of the biggest boy bands in the world, BTS fans often share their appreciation in monumental ways. One fan tweeted, “so you’re telling me armys gifted Jungkook eight iPhones, nine Rolex, and a gold bar for his birthday back in 2017?”

With the BTS member’s impending birthday, the army has something even more exciting planned — making Jungkook the first K-pop idol with a Spotify advertisement paid for by fans. This advertisement celebrates Jungkook’s solo song with BTS, which recently played on the HBO drama series of the same title, Euphoria.

When is Jungkook’s birthday?

The BTS’ member was born on Sept. 1, 1997. What’s something fans can give their golden maknae? One idea from army members is an advertisement on Spotify, promoting his solo song with BTS, entitled “Euphoria.” The idea first came from Vietnamese fans of the K-Pop group. As a result, the advertisement can be seen on the Vietnam Spotify page from Aug 26 to Sept 1, 2019.

According to All K-pop, the Spotify banner includes a message from Vietnamese fans that reads “HAPPY JK DAY You are the cause of my EUPHORIA.” Additionally, a second project honoring Jungkook’s birthday will take place in Vietnam.

According to the same source, “Jungkook will be the first Korean artist to appear on Vietnam’s Largest LED Screen in Vietnam, a 3-sided LED display that wraps around Hanoi’s prestigious Vincom Center Nguyen Chi Thanh, located on a hub location that connects the city center of Hanoi to the western satellite cities.”

This is the first time Jungkook will celebrate his birthday with his family since he was 13-years-old

Between BTS’ rigorous touring schedule, recording albums, and creating content, it’s hard for the members to celebrate holidays and birthdays with their families. That is especially true for Jungkook, real name Jeongguk, who has not celebrated a birthday with his family since he was 13-years-old. The artist will be turning 22-years-old this year.

“Can y’all stop bringing up the fact that Jungkook is gonna spend his 22nd birthday with his family after not having it spent with them since he turned 13,” said one Twitter user. “I did not plan on crying today.”

Currently, BTS is on an “extended period of rest and relaxation,” a rarity for one of the most popular boy bands on the planet. Although Big Hit Entertainment has not given an exact date for when the group will resume their work, some speculate member RM will also have a chance to celebrate his birthday with his family. RM’s birthday is Sept. 12.

BTs returns to the stage later in 2019, performing at stadiums in South Korea and Saudi Arabia.
