Caelynn Miller-Keyes Reveals Why She Thinks She And Former Bachelorette Hannah Brown Aren’t Friends

Bachelor Nation was first introduced to Caelynn Miller-Keyes on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. Which is also where they were first introduced to the most recent bachelorette, Hannah Brown.

Early on in Underwood’s season, it was established that Miller-Keyes and Brown had a history. They’d both competed in pageants together and had some sort of falling out (that was never really explained). The drama between the two of them ended up being a big part of Underwood’s season.

Recently, Miller-Keyes was interviewed on The Viall Files and the reality star touched on her feud with Brown.

Caelynn Miller-Keyes says if she and Hannah Brown knew each other under different circumstances, they could have been friends

Host Nick Viall asked her what “the Hannah B. stuff [was] all about?”

“We’re just like not compatible as friends but then, I don’t know, you put us in one competitive environment and immediately into another competitive environment, Miss USA and then The Bachelor, you feel like you’re constantly being pitted against one another,” she responded.

When Viall asked Miller-Keyes if there was an actual incident that took place that spurred their falling out, she responded:

“It solely is competitive environments. It’s unfortunate because if we weren’t in those two environments I feel like things would have been different and we wouldn’t have felt that animosity towards each other.”

Viall suggested that sometimes when people are very similar they tend to butt heads. He asked Miller-Keyes if she felt that was the reason for her not getting along with Brown.

“I think we have our similarities. We’re also very different. But I can totally agree with that. I’m more quiet and reserved and she’s Hannah B., she’s the beast. But yeah, we were good friends and I think if we weren’t in those environments it would have remained the same,” she said.

Miller-Keyes insists there wasn’t one big fight that ended her friendship with Brown.

“People are still curious because we never came out and were like ‘she did this, and she did that, and I did this,’ you know? Because it wasn’t that,” she said.

When Hannah Brown got ‘The Bachelorette’ over Caelynn Miller-Keyes

Despite there never being a true falling out between her and Brown, Miller-Keyes says she couldn’t help but feel disappointed initially when the role of the bachelorette went to her old competitor.

“I think in the moment when I got that call and it was like ‘hey, it’s not you,’ of course you’re like ‘dang that sucks,’ and we all knew it was Hannah at that point. We just knew. We just had a feeling. I was a little bit bummed,” she told Viall.

However, in the end, Miller-Keyes believes that she wasn’t the best fit for the role.

“The more I thought about it… I had this constant battle in my head–’Could I actually do this?’ Because I’m terrible when I’m tired. When I’m tired I shut down and don’t talk to people. When I’m hangry, same thing. So, actually, I don’t know. Would I actually be a good lead? Because mid-way through our season in our [interviews] I was just like ‘yeah, everything’s great, everything good, whatever, I love Colton.’ And that’s how I would have been as the bachelorette. I would have sucked,” she said.
