The Real Reason Camila Cabello Doesn’t Go on Instagram That Much
Camila Cabello’s life has been far from ordinary. One look at her Instagram page, where she boasts a whopping 38.5 million followers, and you can clearly see that the trajectory of her life has been atypical. Cabello’s life exploded after she appeared on The X Factor and joined the girl group, 5th Harmony. Now the 22-year-old is set to release her second solo studio album and fans couldn’t be more excited.
But despite Cabello’s very exciting life, she still faces many of the challenges that a typical young person does. She struggles with relationships, body image, her artistry, and even social media. With millions of followers worldwide, you’d think Cabello would be more active on her social profiles. However, the “Senorita” singer posts a lot less than some of her peers. But just what is the reason behind this choice?
Why Cabello is scarcely on Instagram
Taking to her Instagram page, Cabello shared a thoughtful message with her fans. She admitted that she mostly avoids social media because she doesn’t want it to affect her life. As a celebrity, Cabello receives near-constant critiques and criticisms for her every choice. “Really wanted to send love to everyone on here – I don’t go on social media that much cause it’s not good for me, and I don’t know how to not be affected by what people say on here so I just don’t read it,” the “Havana” singer confessed.
But, despite Cabello’s decision to be scarce on Instagram, she realizes the importance of utilizing her large platform to share messages that can potentially help people. “I am totally aware that I can use this platform to help people even in small ways! so to anyone on here who is struggling, which we all do sometimes cause we’re human!!!,” the 22-year-old continued.
The singer then went on to share with her Instagram following a helpful tip that has helped to change her life for the better. “I super recommend taking five minutes out of your day to just breathe. I’ve been doing this lately and it’s helped me so much, I didn’t understand meditation before or the concept of just noticing your breath, but I’ve been doing it the past few months and I can feel the quality of my life improving,” Cabello shared.
How this practice helps her
The songstress gave evidence about how breathing is a technique that gets her out of her head and living truthfully withing the moment. “I used to live so much in my head, constantly trapped in my overthinking and being in my head as opposed to the present moment- and lately just going back to my breath and focusing on it puts me back in my body and back in the present and helps me so much,” Cabello wrote.

Next, Cabello shared her specific technique with her Instagram following so that they could try it out themselves, especially when they are feeling particularly stressed. “Take five minutes out of your day today to just inhale for 5 seconds through your nose, and exhale for 5 seconds through your mouth – and super focus on your breath and how it feels coming in and out of your nostrils. Do it three times a day and whenever you feel yourself getting overwhelmed,” the “Real Friends” singer wrote.
Learning to be human
Finally, Cabello confessed that she knew how challenging growing up can be and expressed love and support for her many fans. “I know lots of us on here are growing up and learning how to be human lol, and that can be intense and hard sometimes – I think some tools are really life-changing and help you know how to do that better, so I just thought I’d share something that’s really helped me, and hopefully it helps you guys!!!! Anyway, LOVE YOU!!!! See you soon,” the singer wrote earnestly.
