Can the Kardashians Stop Blac Chyna From Featuring Dream on her Reality Show?
It’s no secret that the Kardashians and Blac Chyna don’t get along. Ever since she began dating Rob Kardashian, Chyna has been on rocky ground with Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie, and Kendall. And Rob and Chyna’s messy breakup certainly didn’t help matters.
Now that Chyna has moved on from Rob, the former stripper has set her sights on reality television once again. She has now landed her own reality television series called The Real Blac Chyna, which will be airing on Zeus Network.
Since the announcement of her new show, reports have been coming out that Rob has been trying to block their daughter Dream from appearing on it.
What has Rob done?
Rob has reportedly reached out to his lawyers to ensure that Dream will not be featured on Chyna’s reality show.
A letter from Rob’s lawyer, Marty Singer, stated that Chyna sent Rob a release for their daughter to appear on the show, but Rob would not be signing it.
“Should the Zeus Network proceed with releasing any episodes of the Series or related materials containing Dream’s likeness, it will be acting at its own peril and exposing itself to significant liability,” the letter continued.
What does Blac Chyna have to say?
Blac Chyna recently took to social media to blast Rob for being a hypocrite.
“As executive producer of my show, it is very unfortunate that Rob could not have an adult conversation with me, the mother of his child, Dream Kardashian, appearing on my show The Real Blac Chyna,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Had Rob contacted me directly rather than through his attorney Marty Singer, Rob would have learned about Dream participation in the show.
“First and foremost I would never allow my 2-year-old daughter to be subjected to ‘long hours’ on the set,” Chyna wrote. “Also, the very real and intense drama that happened between my mother and I, during the filming of The Real Blac Chyna took place outside of the presence of my daughter. I would never allow my daughter to be present as me and my mom tried to work through our many issues to reach peace in our relationship.”
Can Rob stop Blac Chyna from having Dream on the show?
Apparently, Rob may actually be able to stop Chyna from featuring their daughter on her show.
“Rob would have an opportunity to contest Blac Chyna’s request in what’s called an opposition,” David T. Pisarra, a California Family Law Attorney told HollywoodLife.
“He could argue that he lived this life and doesn’t want his child to have to live it. He could argue that it’s stressful, it creates undue publicity, it’s exhausting, it creates anxiety in public, etc. Judges generally tend to take the more conservative action possible so I would think Rob has a really good chance of being able to prevent Blac from getting Dream on TV.”
If Chyna really wants to combat Rob, she could ask for a change in their custody agreement.
“She could ask a judge for limited sole legal custody for this specific issue so that she would have Dream appear on her TV show,” Pisarra continued. “I don’t know that a judge would allow that, but she could try to make an argument as to why it’s in the child’s best interest, and how she would protect the child from undue publicity that would cause her emotional distress in the future. A judge would read the arguments from both sides and probably hear from their lawyers and then make a ruling.”
