‘Captain Marvel 2’: This Future A-Force Member Will Reportedly Make a Cameo Alongside Brie Larson

Marvel is hard at work developing Captain Marvel 2. Following the events in Avengers: Endgame, the studio is entering Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means a whole new set of crossover films for fans to enjoy. While Marvel has kept a tight lid on Brie Larson’s upcoming sequel, sources claim that a future A-Force member will be joining Carol Danvers in her next big adventure.

Who is in the A-Force?

In the comics, Marvel introduced the A-Force in 2015. The team featured an all-women set of superheroes who were akin to the Avengers. Although the story did not receive good reviews from fans, the members of the A-Force were very powerful in their own right.

Some of the characters that made up the A-Force included Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, and Singularity. Fans have obviously already met Captain Marvel, and She-Hulk is getting her own series on Disney+.

Beyond that, there is no telling which characters will appear in the A-Force movie. Marvel gave us a preview of what the team might look like in Endgame, though it is unclear if those characters will be around beyond Phase 4.

Marvel also has not confirmed that an A-Force project is in the works, though it seems like a logical franchise to launch, especially with Captain Marvel playing such an important role in the MCU moving forward.

Which character will appear ‘Captain Marvel 2’?

While we wait for more details to emerge about A-Force, an inside source claims that a member of the superhero squad will be appearing in Captain Marvel 2.

According to We Got This Covered, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) will have a big cameo in the Captain Marvel sequel. The source revealed the spoiler on the website, 4chan, so fans should take it with a grain of salt.

Marvel has not confirmed Portman’s involvement in Captain Marvel 2, which is still in the early stages of development. A lot can change between now and when filming starts, but there is a possibility that Portman makes an appearance.

We do know that Portman is set to reprise her role as Jane in the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder. Marvel announced her return at Comic-Con last year, and she is fully expected to take on Thor’s (Chris Hemsworth) mantle in the film.

With Portman becoming the new Thor, it makes sense that she would team up with Larson in Captain Marvel 2. Not only would this bring two of the MCU’s most powerful female heroes together, but it would also provide an opportunity to introduce the A-Force.

What about those Nova rumors?

In addition to Portman, there has been some talk about Nova being introduced in the Captain Marvel sequel.

It is believed that Beth Rider will take on the Nova persona following the destruction of Xandar in Avengers: Infinity War.

If the rumors are true, this would be yet another way in which Marvel could introduce a member of the A-Force.

This will be ‘Captain Marvel 2’ main’s villain

Apart from Portman’s cameo, there has been a lot of speculation about what villain will appear in Captain Marvel 2. Now that Thanos (Josh Brolin) is out of the picture, fans are looking forward to finding out who will take over as the next big bad of the MCU.

While the sequel is expected to explore the Secret Invasion storyline, some fans are convinced that Talonar will be the movie’s central antagonist. Talonar is the brother of Richard Rider and has the ability of a Darkhawk.

We have no idea what Marvel has planned for Captain Marvel 2, but it definitely sounds like the studio has plenty of directions to explore.

Marvel has not confirmed a release date for Captain Marvel 2, which is expected to open in theaters in 2022 as part of Phase 5 of the MCU. While we wait to learn more about the project, the next film in Marvel’s lineup is Black Widow, which is due to hit theaters on May 1.
