‘Cash Cab’: Captain Sandy From ‘Below Deck Med’ Makes a Surprise Appearance

Cash Cab contestants got to ride with Captain Sandy Yawn from Below Deck Mediterranean when the cool captain showed up in New York City.

Yawn dazzled, wearing a smart sleeveless grey top. She was ready to help two excited contestants answer what seemed to be an impossible question. “Please help us,” she pleaded with viewers who weighed in live online.

Host Ben Bailey introduces Yawn as the viewers arrive at the live online chat. Bravo recently revived Cash Cab, Deadline reports. The Emmy award-winning game show on the go started filming this summer with higher stakes, a cooler cab, and questions for pop culture fans.

Their question centered on a Dutch artist

Even though Bravo promised more pop culture questions, Yawn and company got this tough one. “What Dutch artist studied actual architecture before creating the physically impossible staircases of his lithograph ‘Relativity’?”

Fans chimed in from all over the country. Bailey waited for enough viewers to arrive at the live feed before delivering the question. “Hi from Dallas, hello Ben from Ohio,” Bailey read as viewers arrived with their greeting. “Kelly says, ‘Good luck ya’ll.’ Hi from Tuscon, Arizona.”

As fans joined the live feed, Yawn and the two contestants seemed to mull over the question. More people joined as Yawn and the contestants waved to the camera. “We’ve got people from all over the country helping out,” Bailey remarks.

Did they arrive at the correct answer?

Not many people have knowledge of Dutch artists in their back pocket. Yawn and the contestants waited patiently although one contestant seemed as though he could possibly answer the question.

He’s seen clapping his hands together and then dishing to Yawn and the other contestant. Meanwhile, answers are pouring in from the various participants in the live feed.

Yawn and the other contestant nod as he delivers what he believes to be the answer in the backseat. As Bailey says it is time to answer the question, Yawn says, “We need answers,” raising her hands. The camera zooms into the backseat as the question is repeated. “Ok! We agree,” Yawn says. The answer is … MC Escher. Escher’s name is seen all over the thread as Yawn and the contestants yell their thanks to everyone who helped.

‘Cash Cab’ is back and even more fun

The popular show was originally a hit on Discovery from 2005 to 2012, Variety reports. It returned again in 2017 and now comes to Bravo. The premise of the show is tourists and New Yorkers who can hop in the cab and win big money for answering trivia questions.

“Each episode will feature three games, and much like the original series it will all start the second the contestant enters the Cash Cab,” according to Variety. “If the passenger can answer enough questions correctly before making it to their destination, they’ll win big bucks. However, three wrong answers and they’re kicked out of the Cash Cab and back on the street.”

Yawn was more than thrilled to be part of the latest episode. She tweeted a link to a quick clip. “Morning, so don’t know if the link will work, but last night in #NYC, I found myself in the #CashCab@CashCabUSA! @RealBenBailey is so amazing! Can’t wait to see this episode on @BravoTV. Stay Tuned!” Full episodes of Cash Cab are scheduled to debut this fall.
