Who Is in the Cast of the Disney Plus Series, ‘The Mandalorian’?
Since Star Wars shared their trailer for The Mandalorian, fans went crazy about this dark side of Disney. (Where else can you see a guy get cut in half by a door?) Who is in the cast of Disney Plus’ highly anticipated series? When does The Mandalorian premiere on the streaming platform? Here’s what we know.
Pedro Pascal plays the title character of Disney Plus’ Star Wars series
Who, exactly, is the Mandalorian? The title character is a lone warrior and a good one at that, from the looks of the trailer. His armor looks similar to that of bounty hunters like Boba and Jango Fett. However, actor Pedro Pascal will portray this new character.
According to IMDB, Pedro Pascal previously acted in films like Triple Frontier, The Great Wall, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The actor is most well-known for his roles in the HBO series, Game of Thrones, where he portrayed Oberyn Martell and Narcos, where he portrayed Javier Peña. Following The Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal will appear in the upcoming DC movie, Wonder Woman 1984.
Other cast members of ‘The Mandalorian’ include Gina Carano and Carl Weathers
Unfortunately, fans do not know much about the cast and crew of The Mandalorian. However, actors Gina Carano and Carl Weathers appeared alongside Pedro Pascal at the D23 Expo. Additionally, according to IMDB, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D‘s Brendan Wayne will play a role in this Star Wars series.
According to Digital Trends, “at the D23 Expo in August 2019, Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that Ming-Na Wen, the actress best known as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D‘s Agent May, the voice of Disney’s Mulan, and Dr. Jing-Mei “Deb” Chen on 110 episodes of NBC’s medical drama ER, will be part of The Mandalorian‘s star-studded cast.”
What is Disney Plus’ series, ‘The Mandalorian’ about?
This action series, written and directed by The Lion King’s Jon Favreau is the first live-action television show set in the Star Wars Universe. Other shows, like Star Wars Rebels, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars can potentially appear on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney Plus. However, The Mandalorian will be a series exclusive the to subscription service.
The caption of the trailer reads, “after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”
This will, presumably, not be the only original series set to premiere on Disney streaming platform. Multiple Marvel and Pixar-related shows are already in the works, including The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Monsters At Work. Until they premiere, fans can start streaming The Mandalorian as early as November 2019.
The Mandalorian premieres on Disney Plus on Nov. 12, 2019.
