We Wouldn’t Be Surprised If These Celebrity Couples Split In 2018
Some celebrity couples seem so perfect for each other that we can never imagine them apart. Others, not so much. Whether certain stars have been together for years or just started dating, we can already tell they’ll be doomed by the end of 2018.
From Chris Pratt’s new relationship (page 7) to this political couple’s controversial marriage (page 8), we wouldn’t be surprised if these celebrity couples split by the end of the year.
1. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott
We’re honestly surprised Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott have yet to announce a separation. Their marital issues have been out in the open for some time, including McDermott reportedly being behind a mental breakdown that pushed Spelling to call the cops. According to Entertainment Tonight, “Her breakdown came after she and Dean had been fighting. She literally was hysterical.”
Plus, Spelling and McDermott have both been lacking working, leading to financial issues. Us Weekly reported, “Most of her arguments with McDermott come down to cash.” Their struggles have reportedly pushed McDermott to spend multiple days at a time away from their home in Southern California. However, when they do stay together, they usually sleep in separate rooms.
Next: We can’t believe they’re still together after his cheating scandal.
2. Khloé Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Everything seemed perfect between Khloé Kardashian and her boyfriend, Tristan Thompson. That is, up until two days before Kardashian gave birth to their daughter, True. On Apr. 10, 2018, it was revealed that Thompson had been caught in a cheating scandal.
According to Us Weekly, “Daily Mail published photos and videos on April 10 of the Cleveland Cavaliers player appearing to kiss another woman at a New York City club.”
Kardashian has reportedly forgiven Thompson, but we think it’s a matter of time before she calls it quits.
Next: They may be moving too quickly.
3. Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson
Don’t get us wrong, we want Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson to be happy together. The singer and Saturday Night Live star went public with their relationship on May 21, 2018, claiming they were still “very casual.” However, just two days later, fans noticed the two were already rocking matching tattoos.
A few more tattoos and Instagram flirtations later, Davidson announced that he and Grande were already engaged on June 21 while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
We are totally here for whatever intense love the couple is feeling. We just hope they aren’t moving too quickly.
Next: Their relationship still weirds us out.
4. Scott Disick and Sofia Richie
Scott Disick’s relationship Sofia Richie has weirded us out from day one. The 35-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star was first spotted with Lionel Richie’s now 19-year-old daughter back in May 2017.
They haven’t refrained from getting touchy-feely in public since they debuted their relationship, but in early June 2018, they seemed to have called it quits. While they may have reconciled since then, we don’t see them lasting the rest of the year.
Next: She doesn’t have the best track record.
5. Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn
Taylor Swift seems to be genuinely smitten with her beau, Joe Alwyn. They’re even keeping their relationship on the down-low, which is a new move for Swift. We certainly hope they stay together, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if her obsession with her man fizzled by the end of the year. After all, her dating track record doesn’t exactly reflect longevity in relationships.
Next: His track record isn’t so great, either.
6. Leonardo DiCaprio and Camila Morrone
We aren’t only betting Leonardo DiCaprio will split from model-actress Camila Morrone because of their 23-year age gap. After all, the 43-year-old actor and his 20-year-old girlfriend aren’t afraid to show their feelings for each other in public.
They may be a good-looking couple, but that hasn’t been enough for DiCaprio to stick around in the past. He’s dated gorgeous model after gorgeous model, and he doesn’t seem to be settling down anytime soon.
Next: We just don’t want him to move on.
7. Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger
Maybe we’re still just salty about Chris Pratt’s split from Anna Faris. However, we’re shocked to learn that he’s moved on with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s daughter, Katherine Schwarzenegger.
Not only did the new couple spend Father’s Day together, but they’ve been spotted out on a number of other dates. According to People, it was Schwarzenegger’s mom Maria Shriver, to set them up. We’ll admit, they do look cute together, but it will take a while to get used to.
Next: How has she not left him yet?
8. Donald and Melania Trump
We’re honestly surprised Melania Trump hasn’t left her husband yet. Donald Trump may be the president, but he’s gotten himself wrapped up in more scandals than we can count. From his infamous Access Hollywood tape to the sexual misconduct allegations made against him, Melania must be planning her exit.
She avoided the public for some time in 2018, which many suspected was due to marital issues. Her disappearance came just after the news of Donald’s affair with Stormy Daniels, which reportedly left her “blindsided.”
According to The New York Times, “Porn star Stormy Daniels was paid $130,000 just before the 2016 election to keep quiet about an affair she had had a decade earlier with Mr. Trump — when the Trumps were newlyweds, and soon after Mrs. Trump gave birth to their son, Barron.”
Next: He still definitely has “boy toy” status.
9. Kourtney Kardashian and Younes Bendjima
Reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian has already shocked us by how long she’s been with Younes Bendjima. While the 39-year-old’s boyfriend may be significantly her junior at 25, they do seem to be serious about enjoying each other’s company.
They’ve taken lavish trips together around the world since first being spotted in May 2017 and aren’t afraid to pack on the PDA. However, we can’t help but get “boy toy” vibes from her man. While we aren’t hoping for them to split in 2018, we’re just saying we wouldn’t be surprised.
Next: She still feels like a rebound.
10. Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus
45-year-old Ben Affleck and his 38-year-old girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, are apparently getting pretty serious. After all, in June 2018, the two were spotted on a double-date with Shookus’ parents, which is definitely a step in the right direction.
However, we just can’t stop seeing Shookus as Affleck’s rebound after Jennifer Garner. Maybe it’s just us, but we wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t make it to 2019.
Next: Their romance had a controversial start.
11. Miranda Lambert and Evan Felker
Miranda Lambert’s new romance got off to quite the controversial start. She and Evan Felker reportedly started getting flirty via text and eventually became more serious … while he was still married. According to People, “Felker blindsided his estranged wife Staci Nelson with his sudden divorce filing in mid-February after his relationship with the country singer turned romantic.”
If that’s how Lambert and Felker’s relationship got started, it doesn’t exactly sound destined to last. Lambert’s ex-husband, Blake Shelton, even had some words to say about it on social media. “Been taking the high road for a long time.. I almost gave up,” he wrote. “But I can finally see something on the horizon up there!! Wait!! Could it be?! Yep!! It’s karma!!”
Next: They’ve been on-and-off.
12. Kate Beckinsale and Matt Rife
Age is clearly just a number to Kate Beckinsale. After her marriage of 11 years to director Len Wiseman ended in 2015, she went for a man literally half her age. The 44-year-old actress and 22-year-old Rife were first spotted kissing in West Hollywood in June 2017.
Their relationship has been on-and-off, so we don’t exactly picture them lasting through 2018.
Next: She wasn’t even his first choice.
13. Arie Luyendyk Jr. and Lauren Burnham
Bachelor star Arie Luyendyk Jr. and his now fiancée, Lauren Burnham, got off to a very bumpy start. Burnham was originally his runner-up choice, with Luyendyk Jr. originally having chosen Becca Kufrin (who is now the star of The Bachelorette).
However, he decided he made the wrong choice and went running back to Burnham, who shockingly welcomed him back with open arms. They already have their wedding planned for Jan. 12, 2019, but we’re betting they’ll split before then.
From Luyendyk Jr.’s indecisiveness to their straight-up incompatibility we saw on his season, we just don’t see them lasting.
Next: We were confident in their relationship until their brief split.
14. Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik
We’d love to see Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik get their happily ever after. They first became a couple back in November 2015, and were seemingly inseparable since. From consistently supporting each other to posing in a magazine together to tons of PDA, it seemed like nothing could tear them apart.
However, in March 2018, the two announced they’d gone their separate ways. Just weeks later, they apparently reconciled. By June 2018, a source told E! News, “Gigi and Zayn are in a much better place since splitting.”
The source added, “They needed the space apart for a bit and are now are giving things a second chance. They are very happy together and everyone around them can see it.” Hopefully this is true, but now that they’ve split once, we wouldn’t be surprised if it happened again.
Next: She shouldn’t follow in her family’s footsteps.
15. Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons
22-year-old Kendall Jenner is now reportedly in a relationship with Philadelphia 76ers player Ben Simmons. Jenner is typically super low-key with her relationships, and in her typical fashion, hasn’t publicly discussed her relationship status with Simmons.
According to E! News, they’ve been “spending a lot of quality time together.” However, the Kardashian and Jenner clan doesn’t exactly have the best of luck with NBA stars, so we aren’t getting our hopes up.
If you need a reminder, Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband, Kris Humphries, is a professional basketball player, as is Khloé’s ex, Lamar Odom. Hopefully Simmons won’t be added to the list of the family’s exes too soon, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it happened before 2018 ended.
