Celebrities break up all the time, but 2018 has already seen some pretty shocking splits in the world of Hollywood. Many of these couples have decided to divorce after more than 10 years of marriage, while others have simply decided they had a good run after a few months of dating.
Our hearts have been broken by all of these celebrity breakups, but one split left us particularly shocked (No. 7).
1. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum
In a joint statement in April 2018, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum announced their separation. They said, “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”
2. Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff
Girls creator Lena Dunham and Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff have split after spending five years together. They met on a blind date in 2012, but in January 2018, they announced that they’d broken up one month prior. A source told Us Weekly, “Despite their December split, the TV writer doesn’t want bad things for her ex. Lena doesn’t wish him ill will. He was her first love. Their split was mutual.”
Although Dunham is taking this time to start over and focus on herself, Antonoff has already moved on and is dating model Carlotta Kohl.

3. Sarah Silverman and Michael Sheen
Michael Sheen and Sarah Silverman seemed happy as can be for nearly four years, but in February 2018, they’d announced that they actually split over the holidays in 2017. Silverman took to Twitter to announce the news.
“The great @michaelsheen & I consciously uncoupled over Christmas,” she wrote. “I mean, not ‘over Christmas’ – like that wasn’t the fight that ended it. No fight. We just live in different countries & it got hard. Felt we should just tell y’all so u stop askin, ‘How’s Michael/How’s Sarah?’”
Sheen lives in the U.K. while Silverman is based in Los Angeles, so even though it sounds like they ended things on good terms, we can see how it would have been difficult to stay together.
Next: Their relationship has been rocky over the years.
4. Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer

Their relationship has been rocky over the years, calling off their first planned wedding in May 2015, then tying the knot in a surprise ceremony in June 2016 after getting back together. Only a few months before they wed, Palin and Meyer were in a custody battle over Sailor Grace.
At the time, the couple told Entertainment Tonight, “Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be.”

7. Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux
Our hearts are officially broken after Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux announced their separation. It seemed like Aniston finally found her happy ending, tying the knot with Theroux on Aug. 5, 2015. As much as they loved each other, their differences eventually drove them apart.
In February 2018, the two released a joint statement about their separation:
In an effort to reduce any further speculation, we have decided to announce our separation. This decision was mutual and lovingly made at the end of last year. We are two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.
Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly. Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.

Javi and I are not together anymore. Our future just doesn’t line up. He doesn’t want me to get my surgery for a breast lift, lipo, and tummy tuck (which I’m doing in two weeks) because it’ll look bad on his name at work. Also, I don’t plan on moving in with him in the summer and for these reasons, he broke up with me.
However, DeJesus still claimed, “I have no bad things to say to about him.” She explained, “He wanted a wife and home right now and I didn’t see a reason to rush. I wish him the best going forward, and I am sad things panned out this way, but this is where things currently stand. Again, we are no longer together.”
Next: Their relationship involved rumors of infidelity.

Rumors circulated that Williams had still been with his wife when he started seeing Kelly. An Instagram user even commented on Kelly’s page, “I hope the cheating rumors aren’t true. It would be disappointing.”
Kelly didn’t hold back with her response, firing back, “Hate for you to be disappointed. Glad I could clear that up for you. Now f*** off.”
