Céline Dion Has A Message For Those People Who Continue To Criticize Her Slim Figure
Céline Dion can’t seem to catch a break when it comes to her body.
The Grammy winning singer has been faced with a ton of criticism surrounding her slim frame and the body-shamers are still giving her a hard time.
However, after months of torment from online trolls, Dion is now making it clear that she is not fazed by the negativity and is letting critics know that they will never get the best of her.
The singer is constantly faced with criticism over her appearance
For the past few months, many people have had a few things to say about Céline Dion’s figure.
While the singer has been thin all her life, she has recently found herself at the center of constant body-shaming due to her slimmer appearance.
From online users claiming she looks anorexic to sharing that they believe she is losing too much weight, Dion continues to be the target of body-shamers.
Although she has addressed this online criticism in the past, she still faces those naysayers to this day.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the singer addressed the ongoing criticism she faces and shared that she just doesn’t have the time for that kind of negativity in her life.
“Is there anything wrong about my body,” she told ET‘s Lauren Zima on opening night of her Courage Tour.
With her slim figure being the result of ongoing dance rehearsals and performances, Dion shared that she is very much healthy, despite what others might think.
She then went on to remind critics that being in the spotlight for as long as she has, it’s only natural that her appearance would change over time.
“I do ballet. I do a lot of stretching and I work out because it helps my mind, body and soul,” she shared. “When you go back, when I was 12 years old, my face was rounder because you have more fat when you’re younger…But I’ve always been very thin.”
Dion is not fazed by those body shamers
After being part of the music industry for close to four decades, Céline Dion has developed thick skin and can definitely handle herself against the negativity.
Growing up in the public eye, the singer was constantly faced with criticism and has learned that she can’t make everyone happy.
“If you don’t want to be criticized, you are in the wrong place,” she explains, adding that she is in a business filled with critics. “I take the positive. I take what’s good for me. I leave behind what is not good for me. I let my management take care of that, and if it hurts anyone, they will take care of that. And I need to focus on what’s right for me, how I feel and, last but not least, you can’t please everybody.”
After addressing her body-shamers, Dion ended her interview with a heartfelt message to her loyal fans who continue to support her.
“I want [my fans] to know how much I appreciate the fact that they came to my invitation, in a way, which they accepted and they were absolutely amazing guests,” she explained. “I just wanted them to know that through the years, through my whole life… They have been there for me.”
