Channing Tatum Confirmed His Relationship With Jessie J On Instagram: See the Birthday Post

Actor Channing Tatum has been rumored to be in a relationship with singer Jessie J for months now, and he has finally confirmed the relationship. For those not aware, Tatum, who has been separated from his ex Jenna Dewan since 2018, likes to keep his private life out of the public eye when possible. However, he’s now making it Instagram official with the British musician. Here’s what you need to know about the couple.

He previously was married to Jenna Dewan

Tatum first big acting role was opposite his then-future-wife, actress and dancer Jenna Dewan, in the popular dance film Step Up. They took to each other right away and dated for years before getting married in July 2009. Dewan gave birth to their daughter, Everly, in May 2013.

Though they worked to stay together for many months, Dewan and Tatum’s break up was announced in April 2018. They released a positive statement together, saying, “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”

Tatum and Jessie J have been a rumored couple for a while now

It wasn’t too long before rumors began to circulate that Tatum was seeing someone new: Jessie J, a British pop singer, known for hits like “Domino” and “Bang Bang” (the latter of which she recorded with Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj.

In Oct. 2018, the two were said to have been spotted playing minigolf together, which was confirmed by a fan. Not long after, Tatum and Jessie J were once again in the same place at the same time: He went to her concert on Nov. 13, 2018, at Royal Albert Hall in London, further flaming the fires of discussion surrounding their relationship.

It’s clear that the couple has become more comfortable with revealing their relationship over the last couple of months: They’ve been spotted out together more frequently, and Jessie J shared a screenshot in her Instagram story that seemed like very clear confirmation. Still, Tatum hadn’t yet made it Instagram official — until now.

For Jessie J’s 31st birthday on March 27, 2019, Tatum shared a photo of his girlfriend on his Instagram. The black-and-white photo of the singer basking in the sunlight is accompanied by a sweet message, in which Tatum says Jessie J “came into this world on this day and lit it on fire.” He closed the caption with “Happy birthday Baby,” solidifying that they are more than just good friends.

What’s next for their relationship?

Now that they’ve made their relationship public knowledge, what’s next for Tatum and Jessie J? They’ve gone on vacation together, visiting Jessie J’s family in the U.K. and are now spending time in Los Angeles, where Tatum lives. There have even been some rumors of a pending engagement, but for now, they remain unsubstantiated. At least it’s now officially official: They are a couple.
