‘Charlie’s Angels’ Soundtrack: Here’s Who Ariana Grande Collaborated With
The new film Charlie’s Angels not only looks promising from a cinematic standpoint, but it sounds as though the music is going to be amazing. Why? Because of Ariana Grande‘s involvement. Here’s who she worked with on the forthcoming soundtrack.
There’s a new ‘Charlie’s Angels’ film on the way
The latest Charlie’s Angels film is not a reboot, but meant to be a continuation in the same universe. Elizabeth Banks is at the helm of the flick, and also stars as one of the many Bosleys, who are part of the larger organization that recruits Angels.
The particular group of three who are at the center of the action this time around are Sabina Wilson (Kristen Stewart) a con artist with many costumes; Jane Kano (Ella Balinska), a weapons expert; and Elena Houghlin (Naomi Scott), a tech programmer who joins them. Patrick Stewart and Noah Centenio also star.
Ariana Grande produced the soundtrack for the film
For a movie like this, a badass soundtrack is vital. Enter one of the most accomplished singer-songwriters of the moment, Grande. The artist has teamed up with co-executive producers Savan Kotecha (with whom she’s worked on many of her hits with) and her manager at Big Machine Records, Scooter Braun.
In addition to producing the record, Grande appears on numerous tracks. It’s incredible that she even has the time to do this, given that she’s currently on tour and put out two albums in the past year and a half. Grande never slows down, clearly.
She sings with Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey in ‘Don’t Call Me Angel’
The first track revealed from the album was Grande’s own collaboration with Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey. Titled, “Don’t Call Me Angel (Charlie’s Angels),” it looks to be this film’s answer to the 2000 Charlie’s Angels flick’s theme, “Independent Women” by Destiny’s Child.
A video for “Don’t Call Me Angel” dropped about a month ago, featuring the three singers. The song debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Cyrus then performed the song live at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last month.
Grande’s other collaborations
Becuase Grande executive produced the record, she also appears in numerous songs on it (more on that in a minute). Aside from “Don’t Call Me Angel,” no others had been heard. That is, until now.
The new trailer, released on Oct. 11, 2019, also features a remix of Donna Summers’ “Bad Girls.” You can also hear a sneak peek at the first track on the album, titled “How It’s Done.” Grande co-wrote the track, which is performed by Kash Doll, Kim Petras, Alma, and Stefflon Don.
Here’s the full ‘Charlie’s Angels’ soundtrack
Let’s take a look at the entire track list, which Grande shared on Instagram on Oct. 11, 2019, announcing that the album is now available to preorder. And there are a few that we’re very excited for.
At the top of the list is Track No. 2, “Bad to You,” which Grande sings with Normani and Nicki Minaj. Her song with Victoria Monét, “Got Her Own,” which she’s performed before, will also be on the soundtrack. Additionally, there’s a solo song from Grande, called “How I Look On You.” This is an album you’re going to want to preorder ASAP.
